Scholarship/Job interview question help.

Hey,

This question is phrased like a scholarship application essay prompt, but could very well be transposed as a job interview question. I've seen this come up frequently, but I'm clueless as to how specifically to answer it.

Could anyone please give their opinion?

"In your own words, describe why you think you should be selected for this award."

Tell them exactly why you deserve it.

Your academic merit, community leadership, contribution to school / sports teams, etc.
