I think VividGlider meant to keep card and avoid paying annual fee after 1st year by open an account or something.

I know, I was kidding. But seriously, there’s no way. I have tried with various cards. Each time I ask them to waive they have refused. At most I got some additional points for “loyalty” but no full waiver.

Heads up with this....

I've posted in the credit card fourm.

As per an internal memo, Scotiabank is automatically declining any application done through a 3rd party.

I tried last night and called in today to find out why where the csr told me about the memo. So I donno if it's true or not.

If anyone is able to, please let us know.

The funny thing is tho....

While you are on the phone with them, they are happy to instantly approve you.

However, you need to reapply, take another credit hit , and lose out on the bonus.

Anyone successful in getting it approved through the OP link? Wanting to get in on the momentum visa but not if it's going to get declined due to 'internal memo'.

Scotiabank and Rbc are becoming awful... Basically no promos and unable to churn anything. Will stick with TD and CIBC
Always buy now & think later, or else you'll regret your decision forever.
The first rule of RFD is to not talk about RFD or call customer service to ask about price errors.
The second rule of RFD is to not forget about the first rule.
