SDHC reader vs Flash Drive (stick)
Why dont people just buy a SDHC reader USB 2.0 (around $10-40) and a SDHC card, instead of just a Flash Drive stick?
The advantage, if I am not wrong, is that that same memory card can be used on your digital camera. What's the disadvantage of doing this?

Well, your idea is perfectly fine, especially if you don't really need the ultra high read/write speed. I view it as a middle-of-the-road solution .... The card+reader combo is faster & costlier than the regular/slow USB drives but is slower & cheaper than the ultra high-speed USB drives. The ultra high speed USB drives usually have dual-channel design to achieve the high speed ... which I don't think it's possible with your card+reader combination.
Actually, I am using one now ... http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6108 ... Well, it's not super fast but it's fast enough for ReadyBoost usage ... and it is tiny

I use a SDHC Reader with my ATP Pro Max 150x 2GB card and the speed is not too bad. My Flash Drive is the Corsair 4GB Voyager GT and that is really fast.
I think with a fast SD card and decent card reader, you can get reasonable speeds and versatility as the OP mentioned.

USB keys are to make your data portable. Computers with a USB port far outnumber those with a SDHC reader.

I think the OP means, use a portable (USB) flash card reader + a flash card versus a regular USB key.
