Same here exactly. You forget to mention that incoming web texts are free(usualy .15c charge with other PAYGO) and checking your voicemail over landline is free(most carriers use your minutes for that).Rob76 wrote: ↑Doesn't sound like a great plan. I have the L plan, month to month with Virgin; $20+tax gives me:
250 anytime mins
CD, CF, CW, VM
Unlimited incoming text
No contract
Great customer service so far
And rumour has it they're getting the BB Pearl next month.
Granted, their new L plan is the same but with 50 less minutes (200). I'm grandfathered under the old one for now.
Bottom line is, this IMO is a meh deal even for light users. You can get Pay as you GO for ~10-20c/minute if you look around, which gets you 90 to 180 minutes a month respectivelly. Also caller ID and voicemall for free is standard for PAYGO, and no contract/signup fee. If you're really lazy, pick up a PC paygo phone at Loblaws/NoFrills etc. and you'll fare better than this plan.
I guess the only way this plan makes sense is if you MUST have GSM.
