2021-2022? So, this pretty much confirms we are getting another stupid lockout in 2020.

So, Vegas is exempt from the expansion draft. Can Vegas do some funny business and help teams protect their players for a price, like a draft pick?

That would be interesting to see, but I doubt the NHL would approve these "trades" if Vegas tries to abuse it.

Nice, needed another team to equalize the conferences and Seattle seems like a decent spot for it. Would have loved to see Quebec City get a team but hopefully in the future.

Trying to think how that could work. I assume there is a rule about not being able to trade a player back to a team for a set amount of time that would prevent sending someone to Vegas just to have him shipped back.

I could see them not wanting to take a chance of having the expansion team come in during a lockout year, but don't see how this could possibly confirm a lockout happening.

No it doesn't. They picked 2021 because their rink won't be ready in time for next season. If it is built on time, they would have needed to play on the road for the first 4-6 weeks. That's not very realistic. Then add in delays and they could potentially be without a home arena for months. Again, it's just not realistic.

That's crazy. The NHL already gift-wrapped a decent team for them - that was able to make it to the Finals in their first year. They were able to take several starters from other teams. What does the Vegas owners have on Bettman?

I have the only name that is any good - that has never been mentioned. Shouldn't I be paid for coming up with the name?
