Whether it's a scam or not depends on what people want out from this movie.
If one wishes to learn how to get whatever he/she want by day-dreaming, yes, this is a "scam"
I think "positive thinking" does make sense. The key is to appreciate your life everyday instead of complaining and whining.

The Secret (save your time & money, I'll tell you)
I just wasted 15 minutes of my life. anyway, as per this thread
http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/s...d.php?t=416329
and this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_b1GKGWJbE8

The Secret according to these idiots is the Law Of Attraction. Basically, your thoughts attract the good or bad things that happen to you. If you constantly think something bad's going to happen to you, you'll attract these events to you. (cause apparently you all have the amazing ability you didn't know you had to warp time and space and make these things happen to you).
While it makes sense psychologically and might work based on that (not that much different from The Power of Positive Thinking), they gave it some ******** metaphysical reason for why it works... if you constantly think of a lion attacking you, the entire universe will reshape itself so that a lion attacks you! yes, this is ********.
save your time and particularly your money. the secret is that there are a lot of dumb people who'll pay for this. if you've already bought it, well, you now know a little more about yourself.
Here's an article on it from the Christian Science Monitor:

The author who says that he wanted to make $100,000 a year is a good example of positive thinking. He set his goal and believed in it. While a $100,000 Cheque did not appear magically in his mailbox, he believed in his own book and acted accordingly to turn the book into a success. If he was thinking negatively, he would not make that $100,000 because "my book will not be successful, why bother?"

There was an article in the National Post regarding this a week or so ago. The Secret author is the producer of the series: "World's greatest commercials" so she knows how to target gullible people. Just like the author said, it's just the "Power of positive thinking" in a new wrapper.

From a "Family" reviewer: "We Cheer teaches coordination, enticement to lust, women being used as sex objects, and team work."
From Worthy Playing: "We Cheer is, then, for all intents and purposes, the F-Zero GX of music games. It asks for so much, yet forgives so little. It is actually so casual that it's hardcore."

The Secret is repackaged New Age mumbo-jumbo.
Positive thinking is good but the world is still full of shiit and arses that are out to take advantage of you and no amount of "hoping" and positive thinking will change that.
The only people that are benefiting from The Secret are the ones that are profiting from the books and lectures.

well, doing the whole hush-hush thing by titling it "The Secret" was certainly marketing genius.
you'd think those people were already rich enough without trying to bilk people of more money.
The Secret's been doing wonders for the authors. They imagined getting millions and millions and it came true!!

My wife is caught up in this crap. But I do agree that more positive thinking is a good thing for this world.
