so i had two raps tickets for sale.... basically the story is I bought 13, because 13 of us were going... but 2 people backed out, so i had 2 extra
so anyway, i put them up here in the bst forum for $144 FIRM... thats about $30 below face value.
I also posted them on craigslist at the same time....
now im not sure which place has a bigger audience... but basically here is what i found:
I got 4-5 offers on here, some offering ridiculously low amounts (ie $90 for both type of thing), and none actually offering the asking price... even when i tried to meet in the middle people kept haggling
I also got 4-5 responses from craigslist, all offering the exact asking price (even rounding up to $145), and all offering to come pick them up right away.
Not sure what my point is exactly... I just though this was interesting. I'm not bashing RFD'ers at all... I guess people here are always just looking out for a good deal... however, there are definitely some cheapo's here too :D

I have also found RFD members to be extreme lowballers. It is not even like they let it go when you refuse. If I turn them down they get bitter, and still try to haggle a lower price. If they accepted it that would be fine, but it gets irritating to have to defend your choice of not accepting the lowball.
I also find that CL people do not lowball, and are more flexible, I guess it is just the demographic or something._______________

i think in general there are just more kids on this board... trying to get "something for nothing"... people on craigslist seem a bit more realistic...

You think RFD is bad? Try Newsgroup. That's way worse. I never listed anything on Craiglist but RFD is very heaven compared to newsgroup. :) Maybe I'll start listing my stuff over thereLOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked NDman for this post.

I still prefer RFD as I sell more stuff here, but in general I have never been lowballed or complained to from CL._______________

Anyone have any other places to sell things other then craigslist and newsgroup? I just want to sell some ps2 game locally. By the time they are shipped they start becoming regular price.

I tend to find that too. Newsgroups has been good for me too as people typically don't lowball my pricesLOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked DaFonz for this post.

When I was a kid I lived way beyond my means. Same thing with my friends. We all had good jobs, and no bills, so we could care less about saving money on deals...
Now I know the value of a dollar, so I'm turning to these deal sites.
Its strange for me to see a lot of kids or teens looking to save money._______________
