Is the Seneca Blackboard site spazzing out for anyone else? When I try to load the Blackboard site, it only loads partially and takes ages to load other information such as my admissions status.

Really? Interesting.. I'll link an image of a random Seneca 1st semester program curriculum: http://ioj.com/v/mqrip from http://www.senecac.on.ca/fulltime/EVLC.html If you do the math that's 25 hours of class a week. Another question, when creating a timetable, can I choose to take a course for 3 consecutive hours instead of taking it 3 times a week for one hour every time?

https://www2.senecacollege.ca/fulltime/CTY.html
My course - if I was taking 100% course load - would be 23hrs Semester 1, 21hrs Semester 2.
The difference between the EVLC and CTY, is this: EVLC is 2 years, 4 semesters. CTY is 3 years, 6 semesters.
First semester students CAN NOT change their own schedule. You can talk to a program co-ordinator, who can try to accommodate you. (for example, NONE of my classes over the last 2 semesters, have started before 11:40am. Sure, I'm at the school some nights at 5pm or 6pm, but I'd rather that than be there at 8am!Last edited by _Allan_; Jul 24th, 2012 at 02:11 PM.

Yes but like I said, you're in school for 20+ hours, not 18 hours like you said in the previous post despite taking 6 courses. Who cares how long the program is (year wise)? Why does a 2 year program have 8 courses/sem and a 3 year have 6? Here, I'll link a random 3 year program that will also have 7+ courses per semester: http://ioj.com/v/26d3a from https://www2.senecacollege.ca/fulltime/GRA.html 20 hours a week. http://ioj.com/v/ugac5 from https://www2.senecacollege.ca/fulltime/CYW.html adding up to 18 hours.
Not complaining, just want to figure out why the courseload is so heavy (# of courses AND time spent in school) compared to university.

ALL of the students I was with in Semester 1, we were all in 5-6 classes MAX. (I was in 3, with full OSAP due to ADHD/ODD). That being said, I don't know that anyone other than registration or administration can answer your question as to why it's 23 hours. Again, my friends were in 5-6 courses, and max 18 hours a week.

Hey guys

So this fall I'm going to seneca@york for the biotechnology technologist (research) program. I was wondering if this program is easy or hard? Please let me know of what you think about this program.

The registration window opens again for everyone later in the evening, and then again a few days later up until end of first week of classes to add courses and end of second week of classes to drop courses.
You can register at a later date, you just risk the chance of missing the classes / sections you want. But even if you do, keep in mind that people change their courses and drop all the time, so unless it's a 'in demand' course or professor you have a decent chance of finding a spot if you check often.
Early semester classes are usually between 25-35 students. Usually enough seats to fill up the room. Lectures sometimes combine two sections into one and you'll get 45 or so students (half of which don't show up lol).
EDIT: You're looking too much into things. Every program is different and has it's own needs. You can't compare a Youth Care program to a Computers program (not that any one is 'better' than the other). My first semester DMA I had 9 courses. First semester CTY has 6. But the hours of class are around the same. But that's not to say that a program that had that number of courses but fewer hours would be any different.Last edited by soul_taker; Jul 25th, 2012 at 11:10 AM.

Does anybody know whether Seneca has Microsoft Dreamspark Premium (the old MSDNAA)? If yes, do you think they have windows 8 for students to download later this year?
