i guess it's no surprise.
Vince is truely forgetting what made his product what it is today. The Attitude era (1997/1998-2001) is when they really hit their peak and what made them a successful company, but now Vince is getting away from all that by making predictable storylines, same old feuds, HHH always in the spotlight, etc.
I still watch WWE from time to time, i usually watch RAW and DVR Smackdown, but it's not the same as it use to be.
I remember i use to watch RAW on Monday and WCW Nitro use to come on Tuesday on TSN. Loved the whole Monday Night War thing.

Shane and Linda McMahon resign from WWE
Vinnie Mac is getting no love this week. First his wife resigns as CEO to run for senate and now Shane resigns as VP.

yeah notice how Stephanie McMahon and Triple H aren't going anywhere... Triple H is pretty much the kingpin of the WWE these days and beyond..
I hope this empire collapses on them when Vince dies. The product has been complete garbage since they screwed up the WCW/ECW takeover.

I'd agree with that. The two times i've enjoyed watching wrestling was when I was a kid (classic 80's wwwf) and the attitude era. When stone cold, mick foley, the rock all left it wasn't the same. It was Triple H all the time, it got very boring. They started doing stuff I hated on WCW (making matches so long they required commercial breaks in the middle of them).
Haven't watched wrestling in years now. I held on for a while, but officially gave up the day they brought in goldberg.. couldn't stand that guy.

I know Linda McMahon is running for senate, or some political office seat (I heard this on the news sometime ago)
Wonder what Shane-O-Mac is gonna be doing_______________
He died for me, I live for him.

kinda OT but Jerry Lawler is running for mayor of Memphis

oh yeah, WWE sucks. I stopped watching it in 2002. They really screwed up the WCW invasion angle back then._______________
I post, you decide.

Alright, if this isn't a "work" then it still doesn't mean anything good. Remember when WWF put the Billy & Chuck wedding on national talk shows and even gained support from GLADD...until the whole prank was exposed on pay per view?
Whatever.
I'm inclined to believe WWF revenues are predicted to drop and these jokers want a golden parachute before company stocks crash. Who cares.

+1.
I remember staying up "late" (at the time) Monday night watching the entire Raw on mute, so my mom wouldn't know we were up
I'd then catch the Tuesday afternoon repeat on TSN.
And yeah, WWF games were amazing...WWF Attitude for PS1 was legendary. Probably one of the best games, ever.

It got stale when The Rock left and then there was the HHH 8 month title reign where he "buried" the top stars of the WWF/E.
At least we have a wrestling alternative (TNA)._______________

I haven't watched wrestling 'regularly' in a while. I do watch from time to time (as in I can figure out what the feuds are and etc.....). My cousins do watch it a lot and so I do know quite a bit.
Everyone's argument is just as messed as when Vince screwed the Invasion angle.
Its the same complaint for the last 6 years from all the posters above. I doubt they are making the same money they would have made in the Attitude era but they are still making a lot. I believe there biggest star is John Cena. He is no stone cold but his target market is kids and thats why we have lost interest but the 'new' wrestling market is children...not adults. Yes, you want adults in the market but the majority (18-35) have moved on to MMA. Times are changing and WWE has evolved to try and maximize their market.
Also the HHH comment is a failed argument. Yes, he does get top billing but he is no longer the TOP DOG. WWE has semi pass the torch onto wrestlers like Randy Orton, Edge, CM Punk, Jeff Hardy and new upcomers like Legacy.
Everyone above is living in the past and can't let things go. Thats one of the main issues with wrestling. The old fanbase just can't let go and move on. The Attitude era, ECW and all those things were great but they wouldn't work nowadays for multiple reasons. The first being the drug policy in the WWE. Do you think wrestlers back then were clean from doing all those crazy things like thumbtacks 24/7, jumping off later days twice a week, etc...?Last edited by thechampion116; Oct 16th, 2009 at 08:43 PM.
