Sad that I'm only ~5 months into my contract at $60/month. $45/month sounds far better! Doesn't seem like there is anything I can do about it?
I'm on the same boat.
19 months left = Cancel = $15/month = $285

I am going to sign up under my name. Cancel my brother's account.
Currently paying $80 per month for 600mbps

Hmm I hadn't totally thought about that - the $250 credit minus the $285 cancellation... you're out $35. But $15/month you're good again after 2.5 months? So seems its actually worth it to do that? Silly though!

*******For current shaw customers....*******

Guys, this promo is for new activation only. If you are currently with Shaw, just sign up with another name or your family name.

When my Shaw friend calls you, don't tell her, " yes, I am a Shaw customer."
SHE WILL NOT HELP YOU BECAUSE SHE WON"T GET ANY COMMISSIONS

I told her everyone is a new activation. She said there are 6 people said they are existing customers.
Please don't ruin it for other people who are doing it correctly by signing up with another name and saying they are a new customer.

For me, it worth it.

$285 - $250 credits.

Then from $80 to $45 = save $35/ month.

For you,
out $35
save $15 per month for 20 months = $300

I think you should add tax in your calculation.
$285 x 1.12 - $250 credit = -$69.20 (BC)

Anyway, great promo! I am also in the same boat, 18 months left ($60 with $250 credit promo). I am too lazy to do it. :p

uh, tempting....

Currently paying 45$/m for 300/300 with telus. 24 month price guarantee no contract. Expires summer of 2020...

With this offer I would be paying the same but with a crappier upload speed but a 250$ credit which would basically give me what, 5 free months eh?

And then shaw doesn't really have usage overages...

What's the upload speed on the 300mbps? Still 15mbps?

I called Telus today, told the rep i was planning to switch. He essentially dared me and asked if i'd like to do it over the phone right now. I don't think he believed this deal existed.

I called Shaw, easily booked with the first agent i spoke with, who had an appointment for wednesday for me.

Then I called Telus back and got a rep who wasn't a turd. He sent me to the manager above loyalty who then offered me what i had, which was internet 150 for the same price as shaws 300 and also the 250 credit. dont care about the speed boost so i was happy with that. I could have pressed for the 300 but was happy with the unlimited data, 150 speed, price, credits and no contract, just guaranteed my discounts for two years. so even better

If I were you I wouldn't bother switching at all. At $45.00/month for the remaining of the 24 months with Telus 300 you are getting a solid deal. Telus connection is much more stable & it should be unlimited d/l for 300 plan i think? With Shaw it depends on your area, amount of users around you, and time of the day the speed varies.

My cousin has the shaw 600 and lives in a newer condo he never gets anything above 190kbps.
