Shaw FreeRange TV App on Android TV Box?

Shaw's FreeRange Tv app is available on the Apple Store and on Android.

Has anyone tried installing this app on one of those android TV boxes from China/********? Does it work?

I wonder if have done anything to prevent this. I do know that the iOS version cannot be Airplayed to an Apple TV and a tech at an Apple store told me he tried to use the HDMI adapter to get it to his TV but was unsuccessful. Has anyone gotten the Free Range app to their TV successfully?

Thanks for sharing what you've learned from the tech at the Apple store.

Wonder if anyone else has had experience with this?

I just installed it on an MK808, and it works fine. I checked out TSN1, and it played.

Devices send out an ID to the server and if it is not on the their list it will not work. Most will exclude STBs that can be played on a HDTV. You can trick their server by modifying the firmware with another device like a tablet or smartphone model that works on their server.

Had this working on a couple of nexus players up until a week or so ago. Now the app keeps stopping on both players. Anyone have a work around?
Go back to the last version that works and don't install new updates.

Tried a newer version and an older version and same results. I am thinking somehow Shaw has blocked the Nexus Player from access.

I have Nvidia Shield TV Box. I had to go back 5 older version (1.3.0.012) to get it work for my box again. So for me any version below 1.3.0.012 will work. Goodluck.

Hmm, maybe it would be a good idea to have an archive for old versions. I only have 1.1.0.029 and 2.1.0.004. I'm willing to put them on a Dropbox account, if someone wants to make other versions available.
