Should be no problem. I did two $50 fillups, one right after the other minutes apart, and got the promo points for both on the same account.

I remember the last time this promo ran that several people said to buy the gift cards for $25. I went to a Shell in Kitchener and wanted to prepay for $25 gas and a $25 gift card. I looked at the gift card and it was either a visa or mastercard gift card. I thought they might have other kinds so I asked and the guy told me that all shells only carry these ones. I asked him if I could use these the same as another gift card (since I have never used a credit card gift card). He said I had to activate it. When I actually took a look at the card it had an activation fee of around $3.95?!? He confirmed this and I ended up just buying $50 of fuel.

Now this guy could have been trying to stop me from going to another shell since maybe that location only had those type of cards. Either that or it's not worth using the gift cards if they have a charge. Can anyone else confirm that other Shell's have the same gift cards?

In case anyone missed the tips in the previous thread, the true RFD way to use this promo is to buy $20.01 of gas, then top up the $50 minimum with lotto tickets or gift cards. Oddly enough Shell gift cards have some sort of fee attached to them but you can get LCBO gift cards in $25 or $50 denominations as well as gift cards to a number of other retailers. No fees.

I also havn't gotten my airmiles from the last promotion. They should send 200 air miles my way.

They recently changed the pumps at my closest shell and they make you prepay in $20 increments. They also lock in your chip card similar to what Esso has had for years now

Yeah, I remember people reported the same thing last time...here's one post:

I called my local Shell today and asked if they have any GC, don't want to pump $25 then end up they don't have any GC. The guy said they have Mastercard GC for $25, $50 or $75. However, there is a $4.xx for activation fee for each card you buy.

You can find the number of your local Shell stations easily at this page, just key in your postal code, click on the pins on the map and find the phone number.

Call them before going, to see if they have the REAL Shell Gift Cards.

Mind you, I did call about half a dozen Shells last time...half of them said they DO have them, but when I made them do a visual, they all came back and said they only have the Mastercard.

These pics above look like NEW cards,compared to how they looked last month, the graphics of the cards now look different....maybe they've rebranded and restocked! Still, should you choose to Fill+GiftCard, do it at your own risk of possibly NOT getting the bonus points. Just sayin'.

im curious if anyone got more than 50 bonus AMs (ie: 2x50 from 2x$50 V Power), not just 2x$50 fill up of Bronze, which is 2x25 AMs.

Nope. 2 x $50 Bronze for 2x25 AMs. Can't see why it wouldn't apply for V-Power to get 2x50AMs, though.

BTW - I'm too cheap to pay extra $$ out of my normal pattern to get Airmiles / AeroPesos. Don't see the value.

There is no consensus. On the previous page, peroorim said (s)he got the bonus points using gas+InStorePurchase. One other person from the older thread also said they got it to work.

The number of people that went the gas+GiftCard route, and reported missing (or still waiting) for bonus points, outnumber these two successful reports.

Come on people...we need more successful reports to justify the gas+GiftCard method!

i still haven't seen any of these shell bonus points show up on my online AMs account

This looks very nice, but lots of people reportedly did not get bonus miles when bought gift cards.

Besides, here in Toronto area I have never seen "real" Shell gift cards, only Shell-branded prepaid mastercards that cost $4 to activate.
