Shell's V-Power now UP $0.20 over Regular?
I'm not sure when this happened/did I just completely missed it at my last top up but I noticed today that Shell's V-Power is now $0.20 more than Bronze (Regular, 87)?!?!?
Is this just my location here Brampton @ Sandalwood Parkway/410? Is this an error?
I do fill up at Shell because I love V-Power/No Ethanol but this is just ridiculous, I might as well go with Sunoco Ultra 94 is this is true. I ask the attendant and didn't really get a response/just nodded.
I headed over to Petro Canada just to check and it's still only $0.12 over Regular. Since I have the Citi/Petro Canada MasterCard, I filled up._______________

I just filled up at the Dixie / Bovaird Shell, and the Gold there was 12c more, not 20c.
I was there around 9:15pm.

Premium really makes me think twice about getting a Premium gas car for my next car and is making me lean towards a Honda Fit, Smart Car or Hybrid..

What vehicle requires 94 AKI gas? Last I checked, most premium vehicles only need 91.

Generally if the engine is a high compression design or turbocharged, then the odds of it requiring premium are increased. Also, in those cars, running regular grade fuel will actually cause damage to the engine in the long term. Good news for car salesmen, bad news for you if you value auto longevity.

Be warned...
You can still have gasoline with less 5% ethanol doesn't have to be stated in Ontario as a gasoline/ethanol blend.
If its application where ethanol could damage your engine(marine) don't fill up at car gas station. If you do you need to test ever batch of gas you use.
Rumour is that the Sunoco 94 has much less then 10% ethanol but my car seems to be happiest running 94 octane from Petro Canada(Quebec).
