Shipping company charging me without given me an invoice.

Got charged $2k for examination fees from my customs broker. Followed the money up to Evergreen Shipping. They refuse to release the invoice given to them by Stream Logistics, which does handles a lot of examinations from the CBSA, and is the original biller. Evergreen says it's against their company policy to release internal documents, which includes an invoice given to them by Stream Logistics for examining MY container.

I'm thinking Evergreen Shipping might have padded the fees with some kickback for themselves. Like, they received an invoice from Stream, and then took the amounts and added 5% to them or something, then gave us a "bill", which is just an email listing the breakdown of the fees, which again, could have been adjusted by 5-10%. Can they even do this? Can I complain to a higher authority?

Thanks.

You should be informed and consulted before anyone, other then CBSA, break the seal. Was you informed about the examination? Who authorized Stream Logistics to touch your container?

I only knew of the exam when I was footed the bill. They gave me no prior notice before the exam happened. Is the CBSA or Stream supposed to have notified me before the exam?

This has happened to me in the past - it is the customs broker that is made aware of the situation in my cases.
