Question... How the hell does this Optimum program work?

If I buy these gift cards with my PC Mastercard, will I get 35 points per dollar? (20 PC, 15 shoppers drug mart) or does it apply to certain items. Do I have to show an Optimum card as well?

I like the discounted Canadian Tire GC from Sobeys/Loblaw as we can use TD Cash Back card to get 6%/9% cash back (first three months)

I believe the PC Optimum program replaced the shoppers points system. So now you only get 15 PC points for every dollar you spend at shoppers.

I wonder if we’ll see 20% off Sport Chek again. That’s the one I’m waiting for. Still have a stack of CT cards from previous promos.

I automatically get 20 pts/dollar with PC Mastercard. Will that combine with 15 pts/dollar at shoppers?

Actually, my mistake. I misinterpreted your question! I believe you only get Optimum points when you buy shoppers gift cards. Sorry, I forgot it doesn't actually apply for gift cards.. at least that's how the old program use to work.

This is the HOT DEALS FORUM... so not really the right setting for your Question
You need to join the convo here = http://forums.redflagdeals.com/pc-optim ... s-2040084/

Someone there will break down how Points are awarded at SDM with PCO if you also are using a PC Financial CC

As for Gift Cards...

As far as I know...

NO PCO Points are awarded on the purchase of GCs at either SDM or Loblaws Group Stores ... UNLESS there is a promotion on stating such
AND
You CANNOT TRADE PCO Points for GCs (ya gotta outright buy them)

Again these questions are best asked in the OFFICIAL PC OPTIMUM Thread that I linked to above

You won't get the base PC optimum points as others have explained, but if I pay with my PC World Elite Mastercard, I get an additional 45 PC Optimum points per dollar for purchases at Shoppers... or 4.5%. Might be lower with the other lower tier cards. This makes the deal even better, so I usually buy $1000 worth when this comes up. $1000 in gcs purchased would be an additional 900x45=45000=$40.50 back in PC points, so effectively 14% off your gas when using the PC World Elite.

Plus you still get the $0.04/liter in CT money when paying with a GC.

Hmmmm. Wondering if they sell Koodo prepaid vouchers too, that'd be excellent. Will check this out later this week

Can you use Canadian Tire GCs to purchase GCs there? Some stores have policies against this.
