[Shoppers Drug Mart] Shoppers Drug Mart BW flyer Acer netbooks and laptop pretty hot....

Shoppers has a laptop and two netbooks on its back cover here are some details:

$349.99
Acer BLACK
AO721
11.6" HD (1366 x 768)
2G 250G
AMD K125 single core CPU
HD4250 video card (shared)
HDMI
Windows 7 Home Premium (not starter)
6 cell battery (5 hrs life)
TWO YEAR WARRANTY

$199.99
10" emachines (EM350) or Acer netbook (AO532h)
I think 3 cell only

The deals are good by themselves... Then you have a few promos which can really make these deals interesting:

Seniors day Dec 30th
Get $10 Life brand coupon for every $50 spent...

Dec 26th - Dec 30th
Get $10 SDM gift card for every $50 spent.

Dec 28th - Dec 30th
50K points = up to $100 off
95K points = up to $200 off

So.... I think if you get a senior to come with you on Dec 30th you get total $20 coupon per $50 spent !!!
If you buy the 11.6" thats $140 in coupons plus if you have enough points you could end up with even more savings

You would only get 1 coupon per purchase, you would need several separate transactions to get more coupons.

Anyone have the AO721?

I was thinking of getting one and was deciding between that and the Dell Inspiron M101z

Any suggestions?

Also, can anyone confirm that you get a $10 SDM card for EVERY $50 spent rather than just one?

As a frequent shopper of SDM, the answer is NO... You get only 1 SDM card WUS $50 OR MORE.

Yes. One coupon per purchase, doesn't matter if you spend $50 or $200.

well, I have spent 100 twice at shopper this month when they had those 10 credit notes per 50.00 And obviously depends on the cashier but for some reason the ones in the fragrance dept like it when you spent more on there till and twice they gave me dbl the credits (2x 10.00). Once I had to ask and she said ok. So its like most. trial and error but it does happen.

I think it really depends on the cashier/supervisor... sometimes if you ask for them for the 'extra' coupons they seem to give them out... at least thats what I've noticed in the GVR

What qualifies as a senior? Would a 60-year-old be a senior? And do I have this correct, redeem 95 000 points, get 20% discount, and $10 back wus $50? I am looking to buy the ao721... what's their inventory like?

Thanks very, very much!

Happy holidays to all and merry christmas!

I pick one of these up from Costco for about the same price. It is a great little netbook for the price. My only complaint would be about the short battery life but I don't use it on the road that much so not a big deal for me.

The price of $349? So it would be even better if you do redemption ($200) + the senior bonus, and $10 cashback?

I think the OP got the model wrong on the acer aspire... and anyway, what's up with the SDM site calling it "acer inspire"?

I bought that ao532h on the 24th for $229 I wonder if shoppers will price match the $199 price, I would have just returned it and rebought it for the lower price but I just opened the box up 20 minutes before I noticed this thread and they told me when I bought it that if the seal on the box was broken then they would not take it back on return - not a big deal it is only $30 but I was just curious

i think the 11.6" is warm, you have to use 95,000 points and pay $150 for the 2gb and better video card.
the $200 one is basically free, so that's nice.
too bad there's limit on points used.
