[Shoppers Drug Mart] Cerave moisturizing cream (in a tub with pump) $19.99 with printable coupon

This is a popular cream and the version with a pump is hard to find in Canada; I prefer the pump because it keeps the content sanitary and can always refill it in the future. SDM has this for $6 off, which is technically a ~20% discount. Be sure to print a $2 off coupon to bring the price down to $19.99: https://www.cerave.ca/coupons

Compared to Amazon.ca, it's ~40% cheaper on a per-gram basis (27g/$1 vs. 15g/$1):
https://www.amazon.ca/CeraVe-Moisturizi ... B013GDK3SQ

It's also cheaper than the version without the pump at SDM (25g/$1):
https://beauty.shoppersdrugmart.ca/Beau ... ws-section

To note, SDM has a sale on all their Cerave products: https://beauty.shoppersdrugmart.ca/Beau ... e/c/CERAVE

If you can manage to stack multiple coupons and buy 3 in the same purchase, you can also take advantage of their 20x points bonus ending today (Feb 10).

I found this in person at the Toronto Eaton Centre.

Thank you for your post...I’ve never used this product but read many good reviews. Will try to find this jar with the pump at my local SDM. My skin is scaly, almost sand paper-like in this cold weather.

It's not meant for your face - typically body lotion (below the neck) is thicker and can be harder on more sensitive skin areas like your face.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure many people do. But with the lower price of many facial moisturizer it's probably better to just use one of those.

I use this for my face and my hands only, but here and there I'll put it on my ashy knees and elbows.

$1.50 cheaper at Costco apparently

EDIT: Plus another 10% for the travel size

Nope. That's why I'm on the internet arguing with strangers. If I had anything better to do I'd probably be doing it.

I use it on my face at night and it has really helped in combination with rosehip oil. There's a bit of a cult following and it has holy grail status with some people; reviews are mixed though so maybe try it out with a smaller tube first.

The pump is especially helpful if you're using it on your face and don't want bacteria to get into the container.

I have sensitive skin, and I use it on my face with no side effects. It even relieves my eyelid dermatitis overnight.

I do keep separate tubs for face and body use, but now with the pump, I won’t need to.

It works on the face really well, and is typically recommended over many other lotions, due to having less irritating ingredients.

Really great for Canadian winters.

Cerave breaks me out if I use it on the face. I use vanicream (cliniderm in canada), which has been working wonders for me.

Thanks for this. I ran out of Cerave last week.

I found a way to improve this deal (if we don't take the Costco deal into consideration). If you can get 3 or more coupons then you can make use of the 20X PC Points that run until today. Note that it's websaver so you'll need to find 3 computers and 3 email accounts to be able to print the coupons. Reproduction of the coupon is not permitted according to the T&Cs.
At shoppers, you will find that they have the tub without the pump that's 539g (19% Extra) at $19.99. Using the coupon, it's $17.99. Buy 3 or more and you'll get 20x the PC points.

Great reminder on the 20x point bonus, I've updated the main post. I didn't see the 539g (w/o pump) packaging at my local store nor online for $19.99, but that would bring it more inline with the Costco pricing as the latter doesn't accept coupons.

CeraVe makes products for both your face and eyes, you should be using those products on those areas.

Personally I like CeraVe products - and actually have some. But it's probably best to use the proper product for your application if you are spending the money on it anyways.

Nothing says you cannot use a cream on the face. CeraVe lotion for example, contains esters and polysorbates, which can trigger breakouts. The cream does not.

It's all about learning and knowing what can and can't trigger your face.

Why use this cream over products that are designed by CeraVe specifically to work with your face? What "learning and knowing" have you done with those CeraVe products to see that their body cream is better than their facial cream?

We can ignore the obvious benefits of the facial products often containing sun blocking properties (which are a huge factor in aging).

Personally, I'll purchase products designed to work with my face. They are different when you compare them side by side, and I can see the ingredients are different.

What does that mean, ingredient wise, to specifically work for your face? What ingredients specifically from the comparisons you made prevents use on a face?

If the lotion works fine for you, continue using that. My skin is still drying with the CeraVe lotion and CeraVe PM causes breakouts. I use a separate sunscreen over my cream that doesn't break me out. The cream is obviously thicker on application, but absorbs well for me. It's one of the few creams that doesn't leave a greasy look on me, and is effective in this winter weather. Everyone's skin is different and of course, this cream can break people out, in the very same way the lotion can break people out. It's all about finding what works for you, and that can usually involve a lot of trial and error.

I shave my head and use a moisturizer with sun block in it every day and a regular moisturizer at night.

Have you tried the Aveena daily moisturizing lotion? I quite like it. It also comes in a sun blocker version, although that one smells a bit worse.
