[Shoppers Drug Mart] Galaxy Tab A (2016) 10.1 inch - $269 - $50 SDM gift card - 20x PCO points

Older model I know, but with the incentives, works out to $138 (plus applicable taxes on original sales price). Anyone have this tablet? How is performance and your review? Appears they upgraded the OS to Android 8 Oreo in November 2018.

I was initially thinking of getting this deal but then noticed the tablet is over three years old. Seems way too expensive at the reg price of 399.99 for something that has been around that long.

If it's three years old the battery would have degraded even if it wasn't used in that time. Maybe it wouldn't be that bad.

I have this tablet, its great for watching videos on its 16:10 FHD screen, fine for web browsing/social media, and just ok for light gaming.

Factoring for the SDM GC and PCO points, I'd recommend it over the Fire HD 10.

This model was first released in 2016, though I'm sure production would had been going on for sometime after, probably until the release of the current 10.5" version that came out last Aug.

Age or not, tablet is still great for watching movies. Plays back 10bit mkvs without issues.

I bought a refurb model from The Source for about $130, and within the first month, the display was unresponsive. Samsung directed me to a local repair shop, and the issue was fixed in a week. Good service.

I have it and think its great for the price (mine was $250 on PCO points with 40% back), My only complaint would be the internal storage, 16GB is small. Yes, I have added external memory but many apps can't be stored there. It's manageable, just a slight nuisance. OS is Oreo. For the people who don't think its a deal, please post better ones. Tablets for more than double the price are not really comparable.

Battery is excellent. Like someone else said, released three years ago doesn't mean it was made then.

I have a Tab E with the same CPU and I wouldn't buy it again even if it was $1.38.
I don't know how the above posters are using this at all. It's slow at everything.

Tab E is Samsung's low end line. Not comparable to the A line and irrelevant to this discussion.

I have this tablet, but I don't recommend it. 16 GB is not enough these days, unless you literally only use it to watch video.

Whoops. You are right.

Tab A:
Octa-core (4x1.6 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.0 GHz Cortex-A53)

Tab E:
Quad-core 1.3 GHz

I must be thinking of a different tablet.
Still for $138 I'd rather get a Chinese tablet at this point that's roughly the same price and faster.
Newer battery too.

Only 2GB of ram and 16GB internal. Not worth it.
