I was not aware that you could earn optimum points on SDM gift card purchases, aside from this spend $200 get 8000 points offer.

Also you say to use these gift cards to then buy the Switch at the bonus points event thus earning you more points. Again didn't know if you paid with a gift card that you earn points.

Am I understanding correctly?

If anybody in Toronto has a 20x points offer for today and is looking for a Switch, the SDM at Yonge & King has some Switches in stock as of about 10:15am this morning.

I should have added that when it happened to me (surprise that flyer deals ended on a Thursday), the SDM cashier said it was because of the holiday. But if you have noticed it many times, you may well be correct. I am just relating my experience and how it appears to me. Whether Remembrance Day is a holiday or not, I still say it is in bad taste to have a 'one day sale' on that particular day.
Its not like rembemberance day was a Wednesday and they decided to do a 1 day sale on that day, its a regular Saturday sale, they didn't go out of their way to do it. Should every other store skip their flyer this week?

Why would they not just give the SDM gift card points separately at 3990 plus 20x points at 7980 for a total of 11,987. Why would they do 10x20? I can't see them taking that much of a loss.

i got an email saying that the 20X event is tomorrow. I hope i can get the SDM cards today (2 gift cards 200+) for 8000 points, take 450 CAD worth SDM cards in 2 different transactions and check with them if they can keep a switch reserved for me which i can pick up tomorrow. :-P. i know this is not the thread but is switch comparable to xbox one s/ps 4 in terms or online users, new game prices,etc...

OK so pardon the stupid question but I fail at math and need some help.

I'm looking to get an Xbox one s. Assuming it's 320.

I buy 2x$100 gift cards and that will result in 2000 points plus 8000 which would come in on Nov 17.

If I buy the Xbox at 320 but use my existing $85 worth of points(not including the ones gained above) , I would pay $235. But it I did this on a 20x point day, would I receive the points based on the 235 end price or the original 320 price? Also, if I use the gift cards in this transaction, do I still get points for the transaction?

I'm sorry if all this has been answered but this is a very large thread. Thank you in advance

You will always receive 10 regular pts per $1 when buying an SDM GC. This value is unaffected by any promotions or coupons that may be running

I know the the 20x event for Saturday says gift card purchases are excluded but what if I purchase $200 worth of SDM cards to take advantage of the 8k points today and then use them at the event tomorrow? Will I get 20x since I already purchased the cards?

As long as you bought 2 or more gift cards to make up the $200

95,000 points will be converted to $170, not $200
Right - I am considering the bonus redemption days. Assuming we get one prior to end of year.

Giftcards are excluded in the sense that if I try to buy a $100 SDM GC during a 20x event, I will only get 1000 points, and not 20000.

Using the gift cards as a form of payment during a 20x event is perfectly fine; you will get your bonus points.

find a 24 hours SDM stores, at exactly midnight, purchase it. i did that before and it worked but i heard there are some instance it won't work so YMMV. Worst case scenario, make an excuse and return it right away if the bonus 20x points did not show up.
On bonus days like these on a saturday, the bonus points SHOULD SHOW UP RIGHT AWAY.

for your question in BOLD, yes, 235 x 20 points.
And yes, no matter what form of payment. you still get the 20x points
