Last time I recall, you can either redeem points or earn points in a single transaction.

Thus if you are redeeming 170, you won't get any points bonus for the remaining payment.
Not true. Done it many many times.

So this isn't really a 4K TV? I want the Xbox one X but my first step is a 4K TV and judging from my research it seems that not all 4K TVs are actually 4K and you need to spend at least $800 for an actual 4K TV. Why are these 4K TV ecosystems so confusing?? If i have a 6-7 Year old 1080 HD TV would i even benefit from buying this 55 Inch "Fake" 4K TV? This whole television market has gotten so confusing and convoluted.
It's really not that confusing.

4k means 4000*2200 pixel resolution. If they are saying 4k when it's actually not, that is false advertising.

HDR just refers to the spectrum of colours that the TV can display. There is a some misleading advertising when it comes to HDR. Some TVs will say BS like "HDR Compatible" but that just means it accepts an HDR signal.

If you want to know just how good a particular TV is, use the website rtings.com. If rtings hasn't reviewed it, then it's almost assuredly a very budget TV that will display 4k resolution but not true HDR. RCA, technicolor, Haier, seiki mostly falls in this category of cheap TV. And if you don't care about HDR, that's fine. 4k still looks really nice. HDR really makes the TV more vibrant though. Just go to Best Buy and ask them to show you an OLED TV if you want to see how nice it can look.

If you are redeeming $170 in points, it is better to get the Xbox this weekend as you're getting 100 dollars back. 20x points on the remainder $150 you pay in cash only gets you $53.68 in points.

If you're not redeeming 170 off from your points, it's better to just wait for a 20x day or coupon. You'd get $114.52 back in points.

Of course the best thing would be to stack a 15 or 20x coupon if you get one. I did this a couple years ago to get some consoles as gifts for family. If you stacked 20x you're getting $153.68 back including gift card, 15x gets you $140.26 back.
So if I redeem $170, you're saying to buy this week BEFORE the weekend sale or DURING the weekend?

4K (DCI 4K) used in used in the film and video production industry has resolution of 4096 × 2160 pixels.
4K (UHD 4K) advertised by television manufacturers has a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels.

It does but the limit is bumped to $500 worth of PC Optimum points.

If you mean can you redeem towards the items in this flyer at the prices listed, the answer is yes. For example if you want the PS4 Pro w/ $100 GC for $499.99, you can redeem points and still get the gift card also.

Has anyone ever seen a PS4 Pro at shoppers? I have been to many shoppers in/around GTA and I always glance the electronics and never have I seen a PS4 pro.
I saw two at Speers Rd. and Kerr St. (Oakville) on Saturday.

If you or anyone who has the SDM advertisement ahead of time who is also a points collector for Optimum & PC Points I am guessing Loblaws is probably having a "Super Sale" as well...Or will "Price Match" to Shoppers Electronic Sale. We should get a Person to write to Loblaws H.O. for them to Price Match the offer an points system because Superstore carries some of these Electronic items - Superstore is all about Price Match.
My local Superstore in Edmonton (puts up Sobeys ads) beats it by lowering by 1 penny but where an item has earn 10 extra Air Miles, I don't see Loblaws giving Extra PC Points on that item so how is it they are "Matching the item"?? If per say you really want to buy Nintendo or whatever items listed on Sale, any stores nowadays will match it for you. Best Buy has points system, London Drugs, Walmart, Costco, etc Isn't it the whole Black Friday Sale happening in the US?!! Other retailers have a return policy where *YOU the CONSUMER doesn't feel Obligated & Stuck with the stress*. BTW if you buy any electronics with your Visa/Mastercard check your Card benefits (Most cards have Purchasers Equipment Warranty; Product Lost/Stolen Replaced; Double your Manufacturer's Warranty) therefore you don't have to spend EXTRA AMOUNT on Warranty!!

Wow that Hot Wheels For $319 with $100 gift card is super hot. I’m in for one for sure. Need a 4K bluray player and it’s the cheapest lol.
Same here. I was leaning more towards a Switch but this is too good to pass up.

This weekend as the $100 GC is better than earning 53 dollars in points.

You should wait anyway because you might get lucky and get a 15x coupon to stack.

I have a 20% off of anything in store that I got in a SDM text that is valid only today. I was considering getting a PS4 Pro with it. It's essentially the same as having the 100$ gift card next weekend. The only difference is that with the GC promotion, I'd get points on the full $500, whereas if I buy today, it would only be on $400.

I think it still makes more sense to go today though.
