Thread Summary
EDIT: some have claimed that this points-back redemption stacks with loaded "bonus points multiple": get 30000 points back for the first $170, and use a loaded 15x or 20x coupon on the amount above $170. If those making such claims could post a redacted view of their "Transaction Log" as proof, it might help some who are not able to stack coupons in store.

Redeem 50000 points for $85 (equivalent to cash), get 15000 points back.
Redeem 95000 points for $170 (equivalent to cash), get 30000 points back.

Note that if you're intending on buying a big ticket item with pre-redemption value of more than $330 you should just not do this: wait for 20x redemption day and redeem 95000 points for $170 and you'll get more points back.

This redemption gets you 30000 points plus regular amount on the amount over $170.

If you wait and redeem 95000 points for $170 on a 20x points day, you get 20x on the amount over $170. 30000 points back is equivalent to spending $150 cash on a 20x points day.

Read my "official Optimum discussion" in the shopping thread: In short, if what you're buying costs more than $330 before redemption (i.e. $150 after redemption), regular redemption on a 20x points day will get you more points. So a PS4 Pro at $500 or Nintendo Switch at $400, the cash payment will be $500 - $170 = $330, or $400 - $170 = $230, you'll get 20x points on the $330 or $230 respectively which is 66000 and 46000 points respectively.

Thanks OP. Nice to see the flyer so early.
Now the speculation can end.
The Super Redemption will be: get back $40 worth of points when redeeming 95,000 Optimum points (at the normal $170 redemption level).
A bit disappointing, but not bad.

So the real question now is: Exactly how many points is $40 worth?

Last year it was the same banner. $40 = 30,000 points and $20 = 16,000

Wow because 30,000 points are actually worth a lot more than $40 when converted at the same rate as 95000 to 170 when the optimum Plus changeover happens. Around $55.

PS4 console is also on for 279 instead of the 379 plus $100 gift card have this week where you have to pay tax on the higher price and get stuck with a gift card you probably don't want.

But one has to spend 95,000 points first in order to get 30,000 back; to obtain the maximum $55 value from 30,000 points, one has to have 160,000 to begin with (spend 95,000 next week and retain 65,000 + 30,000 till February 2018).

Anyone know any SDM has Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart, Zelda BOTW, pro controller, joycon in GVR? time to spend my points! Very appreciated.
Metrotown and Old Orchard SDMs (across crystal mall) don't carry any console games. :( SDM right across metrotown has fifa18, nba 2k18, minecraft, lego undercover, nothing I'm interested :(

For people with a lot of points, it might be a great time to spend 95K points. I have around 230K points, so this redemption would let me basically get 170$ of products for 65K points, while retaining full value of my points when they get converted to PC Optimum points in February.

If you had a 15 X coupon to use on your cash balance on your purchases this week after a $170 Redemption next week's deal is pretty much a wash except you're paying slightly more tax on your purchase.

If you didn't have a bonus coupon this week or get another one next week the next week's purchase will be substantially better saving you 10 to $20 and getting even more points back.

My bad did not see that.
But I’m pretty sure that pic is a PS4 1TB box. I even googled it. LOL. Maybe they put on wrong pic?

I have 113,000 points which are worth $190 under regular conditions. How much would I end up paying for a $450 item during this coming sale incl points back etc.?
