Groceries
I suppose if you have a large family AND a freezer... but the real challenge is to find competitively priced items. Purchasing groceries that you don't have an immediate need for at full price is something apparently a lot of people do, which I guess is how grocery stores say in business... but for me, if it's not competitively priced, and I don't need it for a recipe I plan to make today, I don't buy it. That's a luxury of not having kids or pets for which I need things all the time, but spending $210 on groceries at Shoppers would involve buying items at non-sale prices which just shreds the value of the redemption.

Any locations in Downtown Toronto that have a decent selection of Ninendo Wii U and Switch games? They're so concerned about theft they don't display them at all. I can't imagine how they sell any.

EDIT: and when doing your calculations you can't count the points you DON'T spend. That's counting the points twice (because there were counted when you EARNED them. You can't count them on both ends of any calculation. It only looks like it makes sense.

Truth is that if you are buying an item like an XBOX One X for $600, you're far better off redeeming 95000 points for $170 on a 20x day than you are redeeming 95000 points for $210 and only earning points for $390 at regular rates. On a 20X day you get 20x for $430 points, which is 86000 points which have a maximum value of ~$147. Regular earning for $390 is only 3900 which has a maximum "regular" value of ~$6. That's $141 difference in overall value as earned points, which I think most people would agree is better than $40 cash savings + $6 in earned points.

If you want to redeem for items that are a) on sale and b) don't total much more than $210, it's a great time to redeem. If they're not on sale, you can factor in that it's LIKE they're on sale for roughly 15% off (because of the extra $40 out of $215) but that's about it. So any items that never EVER go on sale and are worth about $210 would be your best bet.

So do we have to spend all our points before the switch.., or they will just carry over, and the only difference it will be is that all will be just one card. I wonder if the point system will be the same. I dont shop much the Superstore, so thats why.

Thanks

no you don't, the points will convert automatically, at least that's what's been advertised and expected. if you do grocery often in Nofrills, Superstore, Loblows, the calculations done by fellow RFDers so far seems it's better to save the points. but if you don't, like you said, and me neither ( I do my grocery mostly in foodbasics and metro, 2 stores close to me, and occasionally some oriental stores), it's better redeem it this one last chance, because you get $40 more than the normal redemption. (95K = $170 vs $210 you will get today and tomorrow).

Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.

1x Zoomer $36 plan, 1x Zoomer family plan for 4 numbers $117($72 + 2x$22.5)

Had over 150k in points. Opted (no pun intended) to redeem 38k on beauty products for the extra few buck but will save my points for the switch.

150k=$268 after Feb 1st
150k-38k=112k=$200 after Feb 1st
Redeemed 38k for $75.
Total value of the 150k this way is $275 vs $268. Not a huge deal, but got a few extra bucks for some stuff I needed anyways.
Koodo: $25 Unlimited Talk/Text
Zoomer: $45 4GB LTE Loyalty Plan
OP of the Zoomer Wireless $36 2GB LTE Promo

Thumbs up from me. I haven't yet tested the -0 C issue.

I think that if someone already had their eye on these headphones and the 95k in points, then it's a good time to buy at the sale price + bonus redemption.

There's 4 grey Switches at the Sheppard and Markham location if anyone was looking for stock. With that said, does anyone know which shoppers has a decent stock of Switch games?

Exactly. That's how it's done: sale prices + bonus redemption + items about near the redemption value = WIN!

its so hard to shop at shoppers for small items to add up to a large redemeption because those mini shopping carts hold very few items in them.

May be a silly question but what happens if you return a sealed Xbox after points previously earned on this Xbox where already redeemed? Please and thank you

Two different customers in line redeeming for Nintendo 2ds xl + chips + pop; not bad just had to pay the tax on $210!
