[Shoppers Drug Mart] YMMV 75$ for every 50k pts redeemed - end Dec 11th

Got this offer in my PCO app, valid Tue Dec 10th and Wed 11th as it seems
75$ for every 50k pts redeemed. Multiples of 50k pts allowed, ie 150$ for 100k pts. Problem is I am not sure what I should buy from the, prices are usually inflated for most of the products

This is 50% points back so it's better :) 50k get 75k instead 25k more.

Thanks OP for the heads up. Just checked my accounts.
One has the spend 50K and get $75.00
The other has spend 50K get 40% back in points.

I actually much rather get some points back, I don't think i can find something for $75.00 to spend.

So it's kinda better to spend $50.00 and get $20.00 back in points!

All the personalized offers like this are one time use only. So you wouldn't be able to ge that. The 2nd/3rd etc transaction/redemption would only be at regular value. Unless you specifically got that offer.

looked at the fine print and it says
"you can redeem more than 50K points, for example, redeem 100k points off get $150.00 off.

Maybe limited to cosmetics and perfume...The same offer when you switch to french says:

This is the one I have in my app. My question is what the 40% is calculated off of. Right now, I have 50,000 points in my account. If I buy something for $80, redeeming 50,000 points and paying the remaining $30 in cash, is the 40% back in points based just on 50,000 x 40% = 20,000 or would it be $80 x 40% = 32,000 back in points? In other words, is the 40% based just off of the points I redeem or is redeeming 50,000 a trigger to get 40% back in points on the entire transaction?

This might be better for a big ticket item. Last event was 250k for $400 (so extra $150). If you have alot of points to use to buy bigger ticket item, this may the best time. You could use like 500k to get $750 off (extra $250 off) to get a TV or sth.

40% points back is better if you have enough points. More flexible and better value.

Let's say you want to redeem for a $75 item (ignoring tax because it doesn't matter).

1. With $75 off for 50k, it's straightforward. You spend 50k and that's it.

2. With 40% points back, you spend 75k points and instantly receive 40% back which is 30k. 75-30 = a net spend of 45k.

However, this is already the most optimum situation for the $75 off 50k offer. If one wants to spend $100 or anything that's not an even multiple of $75, the 40% points back offer wins even more!

The only downside is that you need more points to effectively take advantage of the 40% points back offer.

However many points you redeem you get 40% back of that.

I got the "40% back when you redeem 50K points" offer too.

I have about 266K points. If I redeem all of it (e.g. for a Switch), then I get 106.4K in points back, but I have to pay $134 (pre-tax) out of pocket. Whereas if I wait for this weekend, I can get $300 off a Switch with 200K points and only have to pay $100 out of pocket, but my points balance is only 66K. Confused Face

Seems like I might better off using my 266K points than waiting for this weekend's bonus redemption? Does my math check out?

(I also have a 20x the points offer at the same time as the 40% back in points offer, but according to the fine print, it doesn't seem stackable...)
