You can price match at the Loblaws stores and they typically have some good sales anyway. I don't know why you can't just go there and spend your points unless they are really far away from you.
Unfortunately Loblaws does not always price match, although RCSS and No Frills might still do it.

They are out of the way for me except for No Frills - but I'm not impressed with the No Frills that is near me.

Plus I'd rather spend my points on big ticket items like consoles and video games that I normally wouldn't buy at full price instead of groceries - to each his own.

Yup that one isn't great at all. I also spend half of the time at my gf's in Scarborough and the closest one is Agincourt Mall which isn't that great either. I do sometimes go to No Frills but I find I always have to hit another store after to get the rest of the stuff I couldn't find there. But with this merge I will probably end up visiting there a little bit more often now. One place that surprisingly seems pretty good is Bestco in Scarborough....pretty impressed with that store so far and have found myself going there and to Food Basics more often lately.

The best No Frills I've been to is the one near Port Union and Hwy 401 - that one is pretty big and always seems to have a decent selection.

I tried to read through this rather lengthy thread but didn't find an answer.

Does the conversion from PC points and Optimum points to the new system happen automatically on Feb 1st 2018 or do I need to do something?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that PC points convert automatically but Optimum points do not - one has to do something via an app (which I don't have)

faq answers it

the points convert automatically, and next time you shop(after program launch) using a sdm optimum point card or pc plus card, they will give you a new pc optimum points card.
or you can do it your self when the new app launches and linking to your current accounts and follow the prompts

Nope... Your Current Shoppers Optimum Card will be swapped out at the cash register evidently quite seamlessly after the merger...
(guessing it's like they swapped out the old maroon Optimum Cards, the cashier scans them both, and hands you back the new one)

This NEW PC Optimum Card will replace your Old Optimum Card & also work at Loblaws Group
That's still getting another card.

You're right! Sorry, I was thinking of the PC Plus points you get for using the PC Mastercard there. You get PC Points for buying with your PC Mastercard at T&T as if you were at Loblaws, but you cannot redeem there. I hope that changes soon, the T&T rewards system really sucks right now (you can only redeem their points for certain items).
