Actually the latest institutional portfolio strategy is not individual stock picking but buying beta => ETF's. Can't tell you who told me naturally. You'll have to value my paraphrasing however you want.arvind84 wrote: ↑Jun 6th, 2018 2:22 pmToo much passive money imo. Many respected investors/traders feel that this will magnify volatility as the computers just chase in the direction of the trend.
But who is buying ETFs if not retail investors? I doubt institutions hold a major chunk.
Plan to add to my short position at 67-70.

Fair enough. Any insights as to what % of ETFs are held by institutions vs retail?

Good morning!
Futures made new highs overnight and are consolidating.
Decided against adding to my short position, momentum is too strong, will wait for a turn.
Above 2780 opens up 2803 as a target.
Metals: Looking for closes above 1307 GC, 16.85 SI to confirm a buy signal and add more longs.
Edit: Bought 2785 calls expiring tomorrow @ 2.7 as a hedge for my short.

NQ futures we are right at previous Mar 13's high 7200-7210. If we fail to go higher, that's obvious double top but with the momentum being strong I expect it to go higher intraday then it's untapped territory.

I agree, need a divergent high. Money flows still negative and sentiment is uber-bullish

I call BS. Just another way to stick it to the average investor and widen the information gap.

"We are experiencing inflationary price increases in certain raw material and commodity based components due in large part to the headwinds created by the announcement and implementation of the steel and aluminum tariffs and other regulatory actions, as well as higher warranty costs," says Thor Industries CEO Bob Martin.

The only Senator to try to counter Trump admin's tariff war is retiring soon LOL. Better than nothing I suppose for those of us who are/would be affected by these tariffs.

SPX broke out from 2700-2740 range - this translates into new range 2740-2780 (+40)
expecting reversal right here (2780)
