They say that the vast majority of short term traders lose money. But after thinking about this I realized a few points.
Most are younger and less experienced and more emotionally volatile.
Most don't have much to invest so commission charges hit them much harder if they are focusing on many quick, slim profits.
Many are buying on margin paying large amounts of interest.
There are probably a few others. But looking at these it seems to really stack the deck against many traders like this. Also, most that are trading daily/actively/camping on their computers all day don't work at other jobs. Older people usually have careers and don't have time to watch stocks all day.
I'm just starting and was wondering if you would agree with what I said. What would you correct? I like to study the mistakes of others to improve my own performance. It seems easier to remember negative things than positive sometimes.
Ha! Some years ago a friend recommended me - Market Wizards series. Pick any and just read through the stories.

ES support, as a matter of interest vs catching the dip/knife. https://invst.ly/95ovz

FYI: US & Cdn bond mkts closed on Monday

update: support now resistance, hourly https://invst.ly/95qwm
2600 is definitely area of interest but these Trump's tweets... makes market really dance.

Somehow I had 2792 as support and covered there... too early. Now, shorted the last hour bounce at 2788
The action has been orderly - funds selling and not too many buyers. IMO re-test of 2600 should be next, I just can’t imagine what could cause such decline

But first we should bounce. 2793-2800
It's easy to grin when your ship comes in and you've got the stock market beat.

Took off AAPL strangle on call side.

Looking at AMZN bull puts again. Targeting TSLA 330-320 zone to buy back calls.

Too obvious?

Edit: Taking a stab long ES 2736, stop 2726
Edit2: Tightened stop to 2733.5
Edit3: Order in to exit at 2752, stop set to entry
Edit4: Filled (+16)

Think I'll let the algo's run with it today.

If you don't shoot, you can't score. "A" for effort and for seeing the inverse H&S forming.

Just curious if you could provide a bit more info, i.e. is it a broker capability or just literal sense? thanks.

Just sarcasm. Bond mkts are closed and the human impetus to trade maybe down. Maybe it's just me. The 2733.50 area does looks like support. ES maybe range bound to form a base & there will be a inverse H&S, but I don't feel compelled to step into the ring to use my capital to find out today.

Day 12 of the crude rout continues...do or die time for bulls here imo

NG @ $4Astonished Face
Wow, completely missed that one...looks extremely stretched here...

Crazy energy markets Face With Tears Of Joy
CL down 20% while NG up 30% in the last month.
Not looking forward to gas bills this winter if this sustains...Enbridge must already be working up their 'fuel surcharges'

Am I seeing things? Another IHS on 30m ES to go with the big one posted yesterday, neckline 2750, target 2780

I saw IHS on 2h and 4h time frames, but have my doubts it will work. Just too obvious. Who are the buyers? People that bought 2600-2650, sold near 2800 or still holding. Those late bulls who bought 2750-2800, are now under water and hoping it will come back. There must be New money entering the market to sustain the move higher plus shorts covering.
Since 2600 already traded in October, most people expect the retest and not buying 2740 for that very reason.

Anyhow, still holding ES short from 2788. Watching 2750-2760 resistance and overnight low 2719. To invalidate IHS, market must plunge below 2712.

Edit: covered half ES 2727. We could bounce and i want some profit on the books.

Edit2: ppt hard at work. Larry throwing floating devices left and right. Will the IHS work? Short covering weakens the rally by raising prices quickly and not letting longs in.
