Should I Hold off on Buying a Laptop?
I wanted to buy a laptop for university(I have summer classes right now) but I was thinking I should wait to buy one until Windows 7 is up and running on laptops and also for Intel's new processors. I'm not in dire need for a laptop for now but I'm thinking that the newer laptops that come out with Windows 7 and upgraded cards will be much more expensive. Then again I'd rather spend $800 for a really good laptop that'll last long than an adequate one for $500.

It is always better to wait. Your university might be able to provide you with a free copy of Windows 7 Business version when it comes out though. Just buy the laptop when you either really need one or when you stump upon a good deal for one.

Really? Do you know if UTM has given out software in the past?

Usually this applies only to students in Computer Science, Engineering students. We get access to MSDNAA (Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance) and we get XP, Vista and a bunch of other software. Last time I checked we only have a Windows 7 Beta on the site.
But unless you're in CS or Engineering, you can't get it for free, unless you get someone to get it for you but we are only allowed one key per student.
