the price of the iphone is dictated by apple, not the carriers. they'll be the same price on every carrier. the only difference will be the voice/data plan rates which we won't konw until closer to release. most likely thing that will happen is they'll all be the same price as well. but you might as well wait 2 weeks to find out.

M.A.P. is illegal in Canada. Apple CAN NOT set the price, they try very hard to control pricing and they control it well, but they CAN NOT set it.

Rogers can sell it for whatever they want.

Best advice wait until Nov 5 when Tellus and Bell get it and call Rogers to see what they will do for you.

Bell, Telus, and Rogers don't seem interested in competing with each other so I wouldn't expect prices to improve next week. That said, there's no reason not to wait a week just to play it safe.

Why would you say that? Have you seen Bell's ad campaign during the past few months?

I'm guessing the price of the phone will be relatively the same as Rogers.
As for the price plan...I would wait and see.

To be honest, no, I haven't. I am aware that they're running ads about being cheaper than Rogers, but haven't seen any of the ads in/around Vancouver so I don't know the details. I was mostly thinking about how when any one of the three increases a fee or adds a fee, everyone follows suit.

The phone price won't change. As far as I know that's Apple. I'm not even sure if the retailers can go lower (unless there is law overriding a contract with Apple). Notice how the price is essentially $199 in most regions. Have you ever seen a brand new carrier iphone on sale?

Until the plans are released we won't know if it's worth going to Bell or Telus over Rogers. People are expecting there to be not much difference in prices. Perhaps some variation in minutes or data.

At this point the launch is so close, there's nothing to lose by waiting.

From doing some reading i know Telus is doing away with the SAF and 911 fees, rolling it into the base price of their plans. In the example plans they give, the net pricing has gone down a couple bucks. Then again, their HSPA smart phone rules say "voice+data plan totaling more than $50" whereas before it was $35+ I think. Also we know that there will no longer be unlimited data plans on Telus... people with the $15 and maybe even $25 data plans will probably end up paying more... so probably what Rogers charges.

It's a shame the new providers aren't ready to go NOW. Telus and Bell will get so many people on new contracts, at higher prices, before more choice comes in. Oh well.

What about issues with network? I saw some people talking about HSPA and a bunch of other stuff that was too technical for me to understand in some other thread.

I'm mainly looking for a low plan price rather than phone price. Guess I'll wait, thanks guys
