Should I worry during my home search?
This home I'm interested in... has a weird ownership history.
I can't believe there are 5 owners since year of 1997
1997,2001 (March),2002 (Feb), 2002 (October), 2007 (april)
Should I worry over this? Would you care if you were me?

That IS strange. You definitely want to find the reason why - it could be something harmless-ish, like the rush of flippers/speculators during this time, or there could be a genuine deal killer. You definitely want to get an explanation, a proper inspection, and cover all your bases. I wonder if it's possible to track down a previous owner to ask them, as they no longer have a vested interest in getting it sold. It might be worth your while.

It would probably be difficult to track down previous owners and they may not be forthcoming if they knowingly sold the house to someone else with whatever hidden defect. An easier solution, would be to knock on the neighbours doors and see if anyone can help you out. If there is a problem like the house was a grow op or a neighbour from hell, one of the neighbours should know. Also talk to your agent to see what he/she can find out. If you can't get a reasonable answer, you should probably pass.

Maybe the house was a grow-op or was part of murder scene.

Maybe there was a murder at the grow op... Seriously though, I think if you tell your insurance company you want to buy the house, they can dig up some info for you as I have heard they will not insure any ex grow op homes as there may be mold/wiring issues. Use their ability to find stuff out to your advantage if possible.

google it. believe me i search for the house I was planning to buy as the price was very low. after the search in the net found the house was marijuana grow back in 1991.
Maybe the house is hot property and price is getting jacked up every year, so common sense every owner want to take advantage of it.

Your problem could be the neighbours as well,You might want to go knock on a few doors as well,They would tell you if they know anything about the house or neighbourhood.

Don't buy it. Why take a chance?

What price range is the home you are buying? Is it a starter home? If so, the record doesn't seem that strange to me. I am the 4th owner of my townhouse since it was built in 2003. It is what I consider a starter townhome so people naturally make more money, have kids .. etc .. and move out.
Your agent has access to a system that shows the names of all the previous owners of the property. It doesn't hurt to go introduce yourself to your neighbours. They do have a huge impact on you.

This home is at Pape and O'connor. Listing agent explained the current owner bought this home as investment property but his tenants never pay rent and he had to go to court, etc to kick them out. Current owner decided not to go through the hassle and sell it instead.

Thanks yeah i go to prelude forum sometimes. Wanna buy it? I need a bigger car soon.
As for the house, you guys are scaring me with this ghost thing.
If I think on a positive side, nowadays people do flip houses. The location is awesome, the lot is huge! I can't resist. Well.. I'll make the offer with conditions. If anything I can backout if I find something wrong with the house.

Sounds weird but who knows.
Can't your agent bring up other houses in the area and see if there is anything in common with selling patterns in the same neighbourhood?
I always worry when a house has been sold more than once within the past 2 years and it seems like this house had been sold 3 times within a year and a half. Although, the one time it was sold in Feb and again in Oct could just have been someone buying when the market was low and selling when it was high.
Can you have an exorcist as part of the home inspection?
