In order to get those cheques they seem to require a blank cheque. How do you order without having that?

You can just email them a direct deposit form which was easily obtained via pdf from RBC online. Not sure if your bank online has that available. If not,a branch can print that for you.

You won't be able to refer your <16 year old kids but you can open a children's account for them under your account.

No referral, but if you deposit $250 in the children's savings account, you get a $50 bonus. Not sure when this expires though (or if it already did).

I still have a couple of dollars deposited at Tangerine Bank. Put it in there when it was called ING Bank, years ago.

Friend was wondering, are there any restrictions to closing the account after receiving the $50 bonus?

I have an existing chequing and accounts. Could I open a childrens saving account and deposit $250, then take it out after getting $50 bonus?

if you don't have any cheques, can you just open a tangerine account online, then link an external account and transfer money over?

No, you'll need an initial cheque to set up the first link.

Not sure if you can open at one of their branches without a cheque.

You can open an account at one of the "cafés" with just a government issued id, and your SIN. Don't forget the referral key and your deposit money!
