Lucky, mines has been stuck at "Item has arrived in Canada and was sent for further processing. " since the weekend :<. Did the phone come with a screen protector applied/with it like it did in the review videos?raidawg2 wrote: ↑Got my Mlais M52 red note today and have been playing around with it a bit. In terms of battery life, it is pretty much in line with what Zijin Cheng demonstrated in his review, a little over 5 hours of video streaming from youtube, not sure about web browsing yet though. Apart from battery and junky camera, the phone feels really great in the hand and is super quick.

It looks like Pandawill has the specs wrong. GSMArena and GeekBuying (and pretty much everywhere else I looked) also say it has 3G bands 1/2/5/8. That's a sweet looking phone... If I end up selling my p3000s I might consider picking up that one (though I was also looking at the Mlais M4 Note as a cheaper option).freetoaster wrote: ↑I thought this looked interesting but when I saw it on http://www.pandawill.com/lenovo-k3-note ... 00666.html I was under the impression it didn't have 850mhz G3...if it does like in the specs on the 1949deal site that would be awesome.
As an addendum, apparently the K3 Note hit 46000 on Antutu... I mean, take that with a grain of salt, obviously, but still. My other Mediatek phones have only hit the high 20's/low 30's...

Why not pick up the new Elephone P3000s? Or the Zenfone 2 if you're feeling rich.wearysky wrote: ↑It looks like Pandawill has the specs wrong. If its made by the company that made the Blu phones it should be pretty terrible.

Even the new p3000s is pretty pricey. And I'm a bit soured on elephone with their "new model every 10 minutes" business model. If there was more rom development it wouldn't be as big of a deal, but as it stands I'm not super confident in their future supportzijin_cheng wrote: ↑Why not pick up the new Elephone P3000s? I've spent quite a bit of time there, actually. There's lots of talk about their new and upcoming phones, not so much about their current phones. At least, not the P3000s, any way. The only ROM work being done is by P3000s owners, not Elephone, and they just appear to be porting other MT6592 ROMs (and they're buggy as hell, at that).

That is the main issue I have with Chinese phones. The development is very short. If you are lucky you might get a couple of firmware updates and that's it. By that time the company has moved on to a new model (which is identical to the previous one).
I really hope the sources for mtk chipsets become really available and easy to use so we can get new Roms regularly.
Theres no reason why any of the phones from last year can't run llollipop on the mtk chipsets.

The users are porting ROMs since Elephone said someone who puts out 5 ROMs gets a free phone. Its a novel attempt at increasing the development on their phones. Yup, OP (AA0913) and maybe Wearysky and all other THL5000 owners out there, if you want a new phone, just buy the Bluboo X550. 5.5", Lollipop, 5300mAh and $169. And it doesn't look like an ugly hunk of plastic like the THL5000. I've tried to compile all the relevant info below.

I'll reserve my excitement till it actually comes out. A lot of big promises from these Chinese companies, not so much on follow through though.zijin_cheng wrote: ↑Yup, OP (AA0913) and maybe Wearysky and all other THL5000 owners out there, if you want a new phone, just buy the Bluboo X550. 5.5", Lollipop, 5300mAh and $169. Edit: Some other interesting news... Apparently Elephone is going to have a flash sale next week (on the 25th), to get the P7000 for $159.99.

Still no info about whether it has microSD card slot or not, can't really tell if the battery is even removable, but I don't see why not.(it does seem smaller than an iphone 6plus though)zijin_cheng wrote: ↑Yup, OP (AA0913) and maybe Wearysky and all other THL5000 owners out there, if you want a new phone, just buy the Bluboo X550. 5.5", Lollipop, 5300mAh and $169. Any recommendations on a sub 5 inch phone with MicroSD? I am looking to get something for my dad and he doesn't want anything too big. It has to work on Wind.

I'm wondering just how realistic this sale will be. Maybe just two phones or something. Maybe the pre sale hasn't gone as well as they had hoped.wearysky wrote: ↑ Edit: Some other interesting news... I see now they added "Covered by Gorilla Glass 3" in the specs...more lies?

I would say they are lies. I think Elephone would simply spin off another brand rather than attempt to fix their elephone image, its really too far gone now.

maybe, just like Elephone P5000, it marked as 5350mAh battery, but in fact it may not reach 5350mAh. it still wait for a review.freetoaster wrote: ↑I'm wondering just how realistic this sale will be. Maybe just two phones or something. Maybe the pre sale hasn't gone as well as they had hoped.

Hrmm... According to this thread on the Elephone forums, the date of the P7000 flash sale is now May 11. Not sure where that news came from though.
