Not that I ever stopped BBQing due to the crap weather (Traeger operates at -20 unattended), but I'll kick off the 2015 season of this thread with pics of these baby's once I smoke them.

$24 at Blue Sky in Pickering.

First of the season. Yay!!

Not barbecued but ...just browned a pretty 3 lb. cut of beef, inside blade mock tender, filled the house with smoke, put it in the slow cooker at low with beef broth, red wine, onions, garlic, carrots. Going to make Italian beef sandwiches tomorrow. Provolone, giardineira, jus, beef.

I guarantee No Frills ribs specials come from U.S. factory farms.

3lb pork shoulder. Cured/brined over night, dry rubbed and left to marinade for another night.
Then into the smoked for 2.5 hrs @225degrees with hickory wood chips.
This is what i call "low fat" bacon. Lol

I had some chicken on the side too.

Part two as promised...

Ribs with rub and olive oil

Wood Blend. 50 Mesquite/ 25 Maple/ 25 Hickory

Hit them hard with heavy smoke for 3 hrs

Gonna lightly sauce them now that they are ready. This is around 4-5 hrs. Upped the temp to 180-200 after the three hour mark.

Missing from sauce pic is liquid smoke and olive oil. Did not use the garlic powder. Small glass bowl has rub from the ribs in it.

Since BBQ season is approaching fast (year round for some people) I thought it might be fun and inspirational, for BBQ'ing ideas, if people posted some of their BBQ'd creations.

I did this chili on my Big Green Egg last weekend. Chili had a nice smokey flavor too.

And I cooked up this spatchcocked chicken last night. It was the juiciest chicken I've ever had! I had two temperature probes because I didn't trust one of them and wanted to see if it was accurate.

Three home made burgers with salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, garlic powder in them. No seasoning on them.

One steak with salt, pepper and garlic powder on it.

Two pork tenderloins with Maple bacon seasoning on one and the Cowtown Kansas City sweet heat rub on the other.

Somewhere around 3 hours in the smoker.

^^^^

The cheap smoker/grills for $70 - $80 at Lowe's are my favorite BBQ tool now, and I use mine more than Weber WSM or the Weber kettle.
The Lowe's can easily be set up for grilling or smoking, and is portable for camping or vacation jaunts.
The only problem is rust spots after 3 - 4 years, since it is not as sturdy as a Weber.

These $80 cheapies from Lowe's are a good introduction to smoking and charcoal grilling, and a great weekend project.

Wow. True jerk chicken smoked with pimento wood. You jerked that meat off good, especially with that wood. Very authentic touch using that type of wood.
