how much does this damage costs?

A colleague of mines while out on delivery got his civic rear ended when he parked to deliver pizzas during lunch. It is a commercial building and they do not have camera for the parking section. When he came back down he found his car like in the picture, how much would it costs? His deductible is 500.00 so he may or may not claim insurance depending on the total costs.

That will obviously exceed $500.00 to fix

- bumper
- tail light
- paint

Tail light, bumper cover for sure and the bumper itself may need to be replaced if the material under the cover is crushed. Perhaps the rear quarter panel needs a little help too and then of course, there is paint. Cha-ching. I am sure your buddy can kiss $1500 to 2000 away.
Now all the DIY guys will jump in and say you can do it yourself for a dollar forty nine LOL.

Bumper needs to be replaced, taillight looks broken so I'd say around $800-900 including labour and parts. Better off paying it yourself than going through insurance IMO.
Here's an amazing bodyshop, really cheap and great work. I got two of my Audi's done from him:

Talk to Mike. I believe he's out for the week though.

Through a reputable body shop that is over $2000. You need to fix the quarter panel, replace the tail light, replace the bumper cover and paint/blend (into the quarters, at least on the one side).

Obviously cheaper if you are finding used parts and such (such as the tail light), but going through insurance it will be over $2000.

There's more damage than meets the eye... Bumper and taillight are the obvious, but if you look closely, the rear quarter panel is bent, the trunk lid is not quite aligned right meaning there is some internal damage too. This is not cheap to fix... a rough estimate of about $2000 might be right

Ouch. He will be delivering pizza for awhile to pay that off.

2500$ +++ at a body shop. If the quarter panel wasn't damaged it would have been far less.

That's an assumption? The car was damaged while parked ... right? Claim it as such!

I don't think they're winter tires? Maybe the wheel cover fell off.

Did the 06-11 civic all have alloys? (The ugly flat honda wheels)

They are SO ugly!

Or did some have wheel covers?
A really inspirational quote should be here. But I haven't found one yet.

Don't need to look closely to see the 1/4 panel is badly dented. I agree, $2000 at least because of what's happened beneath that we can't see.

Odd that the offending vehicle didn't leave any of its paint behind.
