Silver Wheels Colector Car Insurance
I know many places sell insurance for antique cars and trucks, however usually it is a very limited policy and supposedly allows only driving from car show to car show, though many drive more then that.
Silver Wheels has a more broader deal and is available to autos in good condition as new as 15 years old as well. My 86 monte is only $200 per year with a million liability, $100 deductible and only new or oem parts can be used. I can drive it 365 days of the year as far as I want so long as I don't drive it to work and back. Pretty good deal IMO since even pdp is $350 and up with regular policies, and I have no desire to use it for work. And oh yes I think you are required to be driving for ten years so may not fit all, and you need to have an appraisal done every five or seven years and your premium is based on the value of the vehicle but an appraisal is usually $100 or less and the insurance is till much less than regular policies. So if the few restrictions fit you go for it.

is this a reputable insurance company?
you never truely know how good an insurance company is until you have a claim to make.

I have been using them since 2001, never needed to make a claim but the company has been around for some time. I purchase mine through my local company where my everyday car is insured, hlsear insurance charlottetown pei. My agent is an old car guy and the local company backs them up. Many of the car enthusiasts use it and no horror stories. Is all I know personally of them.
Quick quote on the sight is about $50 higher then my actual premium for the same value through my local insurer so it might be better to see if an insurer in your area supports the silver wheel plan.

Silver Wheel is the plan, I'm with Lant Insurance (out of Stouffville, Ontario), and they're backed by Aviva Insurance. I've been with them for 7 years, insuring a :
57 Bel Air
88 Corvette Coupe
57 Nash Metropolitan
all for $800.
As mentioned, your premiums are based on appraised values. Stipulations state that you can't take them to work, shopping etc..... simply pleasure driving. But yes, very reputable company. Tony, the owner of Lant insures his own vehicles (of course) with Aviva too. (spoke to him last time I was in)

going shopping doesn't count as pleasure? the stipulation on collector's insurance in BC is that you don't drive to or from work or school and that you have another vehicle insured as a primary vehicle.
