nice. half price for a year is exactly what i was hoping for
im pretty pissed bubba isnt on sirius anymore. i only listened to stern in the morning and bubba in the afternoon after work so to me sirius was only worth half of what i paid. account ends at the end of the month hopefully i can get that %50 off
anyone know if i have to wait till the end of my sub to try to cancel? or can i call now and not worry about them pulling the plug before my sub ends? (ends on the 30th).

half off
Just called (finished my 2 years) and renewed + signed up for 1 year @ $109 with no issues.
I simply said I wanted to cancel and that it was too expensive.
I asked about lifetime subs and she hinted that it might be coming back...but I couldn't get one as of now....she said an email would go out to subscribers first if they ever come back.
thanks RFD, savings here is around $100
IDEA: have a "I saved" box as part of the RFD forum forms - and have a counter in the top right hand corner of the site....thus everyone can put in an amount of what they each saved on each post etc....usually it would be zero...but in this post I would put $100 etc...and after 3-5 yrs...I bet it would be like billions etc_______________
99% of the stuff I own comes from RFD!

Just got Sirius in the new vehicle and I'd like to keep it. Can you get a US subscription in a vehicle that already subscribed to Sirius Canada (after it expires or you cancel)? Had a quick look at the rates online for Sirius Canada and definitely wouldn't be willing to pay $15 a month for it...

1/2 Price - 12 months
Went to cancel account, was offered 1/2 price on year sub, without even asking.
Miss bubba, but for 106 for the year, not bad.

the fact you have two subs may have something to do with it?

Transfer Lifetime Subscription
Can you Transfer Lifetime Subscription to another person?
I called Sirus and they were not too forthcoming. Basically the CSR said after asking many times that I could add an authorized user to the account. So I guess then this person could remove myself and/or just change all contact and login info. I think that would work.
On another note there are some good deals on Radios now. Especially the Stiletto 2 and accessories.(Includes: Radio, Exec Speaker System, Car Kit...)I called in they said would do free shipping maybe more if try to cancel.

JackFree,
If Sirius says no, just go to the website and on your account have the new radio owner change the information. The name may have to stay the same, but they will be able to change the address, phone, and credit card information. That won't matter much if it is lifetime plan; there will be no required payments anyway.

Called today, as my 6 months for $30 promo was ending. Asked for that again, they said no. Asked for 1 year deal, they said 12 for 9 months was best, so no. Asked for 5 months for $20, they said that was only for in-car systems.
Ended up with 3 months for 1 month ($16). That's about the highest per month rate I'm willing to pay for Sirius. If I can't do better or same, I'll just cancel in 3 months.

My annual Sirius renewal is coming up... any deals out there? Going to try for the 1yr for 1/2 price again, but was wondering if anyone has gotten anything better? My units are standalone with boomboxes, thanks in advance

Yup, got 1 yr for 1/2 price again all in for $83.31 = $107.42 after taxes, $5 royalty fee (lame), and I think a $6 activation fee (might have to investigate the extra charge there). No problems with retentions, offered 20% off, then 30%, then 50% off if I remember correctly. In any case, less than a 10 min. call.

Another question: If you radio dies, can you call up Sirius and get them to send you a replacement, with the threat :P of canceling/refund because you don't have a working radio to listen? Wife's radio is acting up, wondering if it's about to die...
