Hi,
We will be having our Frame-Walk through inspection with the site super very soon for a new house we have purchased.
I want to thank the Super in some way. I have been impressed by the way he has handled situations in particular when he called me recently at work to understand what I wanted to get done (as it wasn't completely clear on the paper). I just thought it was unusual for the site super to get in touch with the purchaser to truly understand what they want. He additionally gave me a bunch of great advise while on phone.
I was thinking of getting him a bottle of single malt as a token of appreciation when I meet him for the inspection.
Would this be considered appropriate?
Thanks

I thought about that. Just think he would appreciate single malt more than coffee coupons.
Part of the reason I want to do this is to also to have him give a little better attention towards my house as it gets constructed.

DO NOT give people on construction sites alcohol. Very bad idea.
Coffee, donuts, that sort of thing is a great idea and safe.

Good point Greg.
However I am curious to know why this is the case. I can understand a pack of chilled beer to be a very bad idea ... as there is a possibility of drinking this during the working ours.
But I doubt the super would open his single malt and start on it at during work.

A package of good quality steaks? Or even a gift card to a nice place like the Keg? I dont see an issue with giving him a bottle im sure hes old enough to realize he should not be drinking on the job.

One site I work on recently let a super go because of drinking on the job.
This is not the first time I have seen someone fired from a jobsite for that.
Please do not give anyone on a job site alcohol, no matter how fancy it is.
Food is always good. Water and other cold alcohol-free drinks go a long long way during a hot day.Last edited by BuildingHomes; Jul 26th, 2011 at 09:59 PM. Reason: fixed quote
