Slow hdd performance
I've got two machines both with the same cpu and motherboard. Prescott 2.4 & GA-8S661MP-RZ.
The motherboard has an SiS 661fx chipset.
1st PC Server 2003 with a Maxtor 16MB 200GB IDE drive
2nd PC XP Pro with 2xMaxtor 2MB 80GB Software Raid 0
Using Sandra 2005
1st pc 32mb/s
2nd pc 32mb/s
That's pretty low consdering my Intel D845PEBT2 board with an Maxtor 8mb 160GB drive does 47mb/s.
Does the SiS chipset of the Gigabyte motherboards just suck?

Sandra is unreliable for I/O subsystem benchmarking... try HD Tach 3.x instead...
