I've found that sometimes, zipping the file will allow it to transfer faster.

i am sure that as soon as you start to transfer a file that message pops up anyway.
where you transferring the file to? my cousin and i transfer files all the time (he is in australia, and sends me pics of his travels) and most of the time the transfers are super quick. i usually try to compress my images before i send them off.
i believe goofball is on the right track with the zipping suggestion.

thanks Sk. Be.
i have never had a problem transfering an mp3 over msn, or multiple mp3's at the same time, now it takes like 10-15 minutes for 1...
i dont think this sounds normal only because its never happend to me before...
tnx again!

Are you using a router? if so you may need to forward some ports.
Try these:
IN TCP 6891 - 6900
IN TCP 1863
IN UDP 1863
IN UDP 5190
IN UDP 6901
IN TCP 6901

should be somewhere in your linksys setup
