Hey guys, I just RMA'ed a Seagate and got back a "Certified and Tested" drive (refurb)
I had RMA'd it because it was getting spinup retries, bad sectors were being reallocated, so it was just a matter of time before it was gonna die.
So my new drive, shows "OK" in HDTUNE's Smart Check.
Look at the "Raw Read Error Rate", over 16 million?
Also look at the Seek Error Rate: 8064!?
The other SMART attributes give it the illusion that this is a new drive (practically no hour on hours, 6 reboots which were mine), etc.
So I'm not sure as to how a drive can have this many Seek Errors, and still show up as "OK" in the Smart counter?
Should I be worried with this drive?
My 2 year old Caviar Blacks both show "0" in these 2 elements' attributes (never RMA'd).
Thanks

the data is the raw data for the drive, it doesn't mean there are 16 million read errors.
the stat you want to pay attention to is the current column._______________
it's not who you are, it's what you do.
