Smart Powders is one of the cheapest of the cheap. The Owner, also owns Primaforce and Scivation. Quality is, well, what you pay for. Trueprotein, or truenutrition.com now is run by someone who I can't remember, but it's someone in the industry and from what I know, is reliable.
What are you planning on putting into your pre-wo mix?

Are SmartPowders.com or TrueProtein.com reliable for Canadians?
Hey folks,
I'm looking to create a custom blend for my pre-workout stack, and these sites seem highly regarded on the American side. Do you guys have any experience with them? Both in terms of their shipping and the quality of their own branded powders.
They seem to be affiliated and to me just look like different branding on the same stuff (the sign up form and its wording is pretty much identical).
Thanks in advance.Last edited by FatIndian; Jan 3rd, 2012 at 06:07 PM.

ALCAR and L-Carnitine are the exact same thing.... well almost. Read this and decide which form is best for your needs:

DMAA is also illegal in Canada now, so I wonder if it'll get through. I would look into adding Citrulline in as well, anywhere form 3-5g per serving is a good amount.

I use Jack3d at the moment, and it's one of the two functional components in that (along with Caffeine). I'm fairly sure the rest is just crap and does nothing, that's why I want to blend my own powder (more potency and ingredients that are actually well researched).
This is the first time I've used a pre-workout booster and I'm responding well, no noticeable crashes or depression. I plan to use the bare minimum (20mg).
You could probably do the same (or a similar) blend just without the DMAA, I think caffeine and tyrosine should provide a good enough high feeling of energy and focus.

I'm liking the prices on this site.
Anyone know if duties are charged at the door or none like bb.com?

Planning to make an order. The shipping is about $20 - 25 depending on the weight.
Anyone know any coupons for the site?

There might be a coupon for SP, but I don't think there are any for TN. On TN they pay the brokerage fee for you, as they ship via UPS. SP, you can choose the shipping but they don't pay any brokerage fees. Depending on the weight of what you buy, it might be better to split it up into $20 shipments so you don't have to pay any brokerage fees/taxes.

I'm not sure on how reliable or how good/bad the quality is, but I've ordered many time from trueprotein and will do it again. Takes about 2 weeks to arrive but being able to custom blend is a big plus. However, I did notice that their flavouring methods are way off - one batch is flavoured and sweetened well, whereas the other is not so much. They must hand add the flavour, which is obviously not going to be accurate. No biggie, as I would order from them again.
In fact, I think it's time I place another order today

I used to order from TP awhile ago, its run by Dante (DoggCrap) I believe over at intensemuscle.
Great products but just the turn around took forever and sometimes it would get delayed at the boarder. I just order locally now. It works out to be about the same_______________
