I googled and found TSI's config instruction useful.

Just wondering, is this still the best VDSL2+ modem to-date?
Both Bell Hub2000 and Bell Hub1000 are better than SmartRG 505N.

Both (hub2000 and 1000) can be used a bridge without any setting, just connect a router, plug to port 4 of HUB1000/2000, you can use hub1000/2000 as pure modem.

Use the two as router are very easy too, with Bell firmware inside. It's unlocked. Tested with Carrytel/Teksavvy/Ebox/CIK and NCF.ca

For those that still use the SmartRG router, is there a way to disable or prevent ISP from access via the TR-069 Client (WAN Management Protocol)?

I am paranoid now that today, my router was somehow reset to it's initial setup (not default) that was done by my ISP. All my configuration was wiped out.

From memory, I think there was a discussion on DLS Report a while back on a similar issue on an open port and TR-069 Client and basically the solution was to buy a wireless router and to set the SmartRg to bridge mode and hence preventing Smartrg from outside control.

Just buy a HUB2000 instead, cost $90 or so. A few people in Brampton area are selling it.

I have rhis modem and it keeps dropping the signal and looks like resetting g every 5 minutes, basically continually. All day.

Called Ebox.com (my provider) and they mailed me another modem, brand new, another rg505 .. was fine for 12 hrs or so... then the same thing. Resetting itself, dropping the signal.

Very frustrating. Anyone experience this before? Is this something in the settings? Bc its 2 modems in a row now.

You sure it's the modem resetting, and not just the line dropping? Sounds like something with your line. I would ask eBox to send a tech to troubleshoot.

Mine from Teksavvy, now with eBox, it's been 2 years and it's rock solid.
The myth on the Internet is that Canadians are nice people. Those people who say this just haven't been on RFD.

Is the .10 firmware above the latest?

Edit: Found out that 2.5.0.11 is the latest. I'm on 2.5.0.7 so definitely time to upgrade as there's been tons of improvements etc since then.
