So the consensus is that the wifi on the SR505N isn't good?

If so, I'll set it up as a bridge with my existing RT-N66R router.
Yep it's pretty poor, your Asus N66 is much much better

The SR501 is really what everyone should be looking for, the SR505n just comes with the WiFi router that most everyone bridges anyways and use their own WiFi router and you save $30-$40 !

So I bought one of these that was used with ebox before, and have been trying to get it set up with acanac (who have been the opposite of helpful). the problem is the admin/admin login does work. it just refreshes and clears the fields. I've tried resetting it, still the same. I've seen a few different logins like admin/eboxadmin and admin/config, would these work even though its supposed to be admin/admin with acanac? anyone have any ideas?

- The SmartRG works at full speed in bridged mode, while the Sagemcom maxes out around 33 Mbps
There are reports that the Sagemcom 2864 has been fixed via firmware as of 2015:
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r298228 ... w-firmware

I'm changing speed from 25/10 tp 50/10 on April 1, and I will test if the 33 Mbps limit is still true on a FAST2864_v6851E firmware. If everything has been fixed, then there's no reason for existing Sagemcom owners to spend money on SmartRG SR505N.

UPDATE: Sagemcom 2864 still has a limit, picked up SR505N and it screams at 50 Mbps.

I wouldn't recommend getting the SR501 these days.
If you are going to be buying new get a SmartRG506n or Zhone 6718-W1-NA instead, both are Stinger capable !
For used get a SR505n, but WiFi is useless on it and you will need a separate router.
