Smells after waterproofing.....should I be worried?

My basement smells like the black rubber stuff they paint on your foundation as part of the waterproofing process.

My contractor said it because it probably soaked into all the pourous cracks in the foundation and just needs to be aired out.

Should I be worried ? Or will the smell go away. I'm afraid that I'm going to need to open up my drywall to get a closer look. That's going to be a rough undertaking since I just spent a ton waterproofing.

Should I be worried?

I don't have much experience here, but does the rest of your house smell like tar as well? Wondering if it's just the smell of tar in the area as opposed to tar seeping in through the walls/cracks.

That would worry me about mold. How's the humidity level in the basement?
Did you recently renovate an old house?
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
