Smoothie question and the Vitamix mystery.

I was making the simplest blueberry smoothies when I started noticing the smoothies were too thick after blending for 30 seconds. I had to use a spoon as it thickened up quickly. And I don’t know why. I stopped with the blueberries and now use strawberries with no issues.

Recipe 1 cup fresh blueberries, 1 small banana, 1 cup whole milk.

Any reason why it’s so thick?

Blueberries are full of fiber. My guess is that's why.

I don't like thick smoothies myself and at times adding few ice cubes change the consistency.. or use frozen blueberries perhaps?
You just gotta play with time and the recipe to find your jam.. perhaps try blending it shorter/longer or substitute some of the milk by water..etc
Good luck!

Thanks! Next time I’ll try to add more liquid. :)

It's personal preference...try not to be tied to a recipe. Add some water, yogurt, more milk, juice, etc.
We're all bozos on the bus until we find a way to express ourselves...

Failure is always an option...just not the preferred one!
