Unless Nintendo is going to drastically triple or quadruple the number compared to the NES Classic, you will still be battling scalpers for the consoles. Remember, they only produced 2.3 million TOTAL worldwide for the NES Classic. Even then, that wasn't enough. The SNES has even higher demand so you have to consider even an increased production of 3 million won't be enough.

Scalpers also know its the holidays so they will still be lurking until then.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wouldn't worry about availability since it'll ship into 2018.

Except the news comes from a company called Nintendo.

And how many runs are they gonna do. Moreso, how many more will they actually ship?

Well prices are already starting to come down on eBay down to low $200s, and these are pre-orders (e.g. the scalpers don't have to put money up front). Hopefully it will be easier to get one after launch.

These will be sold out before Christmas and selling for $400+

Yeah...I wouldn't worry too much. There will be plenty of stock eventually, maybe not at launch but stock will be available....don't fall for the scalpers trap people.....don't bother over paying for this product.
For those who couldn't get an NES Classic....apparently you'll have another opportunity sometime next year.....feel sorry for people who paid too much for the original NES classic. But then again, when the NES classics are released again, wonder if they will be hackable?...who knows.

there will always be a way to hack them...I don't think Nintendo is too busy worrying about circumventing access to 30 year old + games

We come here looking for deals. We use the savings on the things we buy to justify buying more things, thus filling our homes with tons of unnecessary consumer products. Such is the key to happiness.
