Well, a disappointing winter is over for us new snowblower owners! What should I do to store my 724qxe over the summer and maintain it well? Still has some gas left in it.

1) If the gas was not already treated, get some fuel preservative and mix it in with the remaining gas

2) Run the engine for about 5 mins

3) drain out the old gas (if possible)

4) run the engine u til dry. It will stop as the fuel level gets low. You can usually restart it and it will run for a few more moments. Repeat until it no longer starts

5) mist the body down with your favorite anti rust preservative. I use a light coat of wd40. Fluid film, krown, rustcheck etc could also be used.

6) Store in a cool dry place

7) dump the leftover gas into your car.

Well.. This doesn't seem good. I ran it for a few minutes. Shut it off, drained out as much gas as I could with a turkey baster. Put the cap back on and tried to start it to run out the remaining gas. But it would start. Tried the electric start, same thing.

Then put some more gas back in it.. Still won't start.

The gas was treated back in Nov with Sta-bil.

Do I need to take this thing into a shop?

I wouldn't mess with it too much as there's a "guaranteed to start" warranty.

Call the toro 1-800. They are going to have you drain the old gas out of tank and refill with fresh gas.

Another trick is to spray a squirt of carb cleaner/ throttle body cleaner into the air intake. The engine should start and run for a few seconds. This primes the gas back into the carb again

I still never got a snow blower. :(

I hit up several different walmarts, sears, home depots, lowes, home hardwares over the past few months looking for clearance deals on snow blowers and couldn't find any good deals. Some were on sale but only for like 20% off which is fall pricing not spring pricing. I want to pay $300 for a two stage snow blower, and couldn't find anythign like that.

One can see snow suits and Christmas trees already in stores. Just wondering when snowblowers season starts?

The Ego Snowblower showed up at Home Depot for $799, but I can't find it on their website again......looks like they took it off for some reason.

I've also got their mower....only good things to say about it.

Can somebody recommend the type and brand of oil to buy for a toro? It is recommended to change the oil yearly.

Check the manual. My Toro takes 5W30. I put premium Amsoil synthetic in mine. Better to go all out.

The problem here, and correct me if I'm wrong , is that finding parts for these "low name" snow blowers is difficult. Whereas you buy a Toro, Ariens and Cub Cadet from a proper dealer and parts will be easy to come by.

Would love everyone's advice/comments. I just bought this Cub Cadet 208cc, 2-stage at Lowe's, on sale for $899.99.

Then, today, Lowe's has this B&S 208cc, 2-stage for $799.99. Both are 24 inches.

Which would you pick? I can refund it, haven't even picked up yet. I see Cub C has heated handles. Other things seems to me to be similar.

Cub Cadet:

B&S:

Thank you all

TMLBBMD wrote: Hey Guys,

Do you know of any good deals for snowblowers right now?

I was looking at this one: https://www.lowes.ca/snow-blowers/cub-c ... PID=749547
Do you think that is a good deal, or should I keep looking (and maybe find a good deal on a Honda)?
