Want customers to comeback?
Don't gouge them!
My friend who recently graduated wanted to buy the new camero.
He went to an east end chevy dealer to check out
An lt model(v6 model).
It's pretty basic just leather and sunroof as options.
He priced it out on the website gm.ca to $28760.
Get this the dealer want him to pay $6000 over sticker price!
My friend is now waiting delivery of his g37s.
Bye gm certinely lost a customer for life

That's ridiculous. How can a V6 Camaro sell for that much?
But I don't get why you didn't try another dealer either; you can have a bad experience at any dealer, any make/manufacturer...
Also even adding $6k to the price of the Camaro (which should buy you a V8 Camaro, no?), that can't be as much as a G37S. Sounds like your friend couldn't have been that serious about buying the Camaro anyway if he bought a car that is easily over $10k more than the list price on the Camaro. I.e. If he was shopping for a $30k car how did he go to a car that probably cost $50k???

Maybe the Camaro is limited (not being sarcastic, but just a suggestion, since I don't pay much attention to GM...ha ha ha). I know that's happened in the past for some cars that are not very widely available. If I recall the previous generation BMW M3's, had to be ordered so far in advance because of limited supply and dealerships charged well over the MSRP and they were sold.
I don't think dealership are screwing GM over, I mean GM is the one that is terminating the relationship and closing a lot of the dealerships.

There is the principle of the matter. It's entirely possible the issue isn't about the money but the gouging tactics employed by the dealership. If I were in a similar position and could afford it I too would be enticed to look elsewhere (complete with a written letter of my displeasure and a beaming photo of my new car sent to GM).
"Maybe the Camaro is limited"
It is in limited supply. I still don't think that justifies cash grabs. Create a waiting list and sell at MSRP. That's the fair thing to do. If the dealer wants to profit then let them buy their own car and sell it as a private vehicle (but of course going through the same wait list process).

it's not rare but its in demand and supply is limited even though Oshawa is running the plant 6 days a week. It's a beautiful car.

First of all, $40k OTD for a base demo G37s is a decent deal - I might have made the same call.
Second of all, there's no gouging going on here as far as I can see and I would be shocked if cars - even one as hot as the Camaro - are being sold above MSRP in Ontario (or anywhere in Canada, for that matter).
At $28,760, your friend configured a base Camaro - IOW, the LS trim. A Camaro with leather and a sunroof is a "2LT" trim. That model also includes fold-down rear seats (with trunk pass-through). And, lo and behold, GM's website shows the price at $34,190 - that's without a block heater, any ugraded colours or wheels, etc.
Or, roughly $6000 more than what your friend had configured the base Camaro.
It sounds like your friend wasn't paying that much attention - and, for that, they've written off a car maker?
There better be more to the story than this.
