So many dumbasses at UofT do not know how to exit a library
Almost everyday there are idiots at UTSC who know how to enter the library, but for some reason they do not know how to use the same doors to exit. Instead, they use the FIRE EXIT doors to leave, setting off the alarm. Seriously, how stupid can someone be that they do not know how to leave from the same doors that they entered from? There's a difference between the Main Entrance/Exit (4 doors) vs. Fire Exit (1 door with a big red sign that says EMERGENCY EXIT ONLY).

In the Ryerson library, we don't exit with the same doors we entered from.

Did I mention about Ryerson? No. But either way, for someone to use a fire exit that has a large red sign on it that says "EMERGENCY EXIT ONLY, OPENING WILL SOUND THE ALARM" is a moron.

Is the alarm loud or soft? How often does it happen (hourly???). From the way you describe it, it must happen very often. Shouldn't the library staff do ... something? Like honestly they should be more frustrated than you if their in there every day.

It's annoying to everyone because it happens like 2-3 times almost every day. You can see people giving the idiots cold stares LOL. It sounds like a typical house alarm and the librarian has to come with their keys to shut off the alarm.

It's called summer courses. And this happens during the fall/winter as well.

I must be in the library at the best times or something. I've never heard the alarm go off.

Thank god I'm downtown.
First time showing ID at Robarts: "Oh, can you show me your ID? Keeps the dirty Ryerson students out."
I do not mean to offend anyone by this, and I hope people will understand that the guy at the desk was joking about it.
Either way, though, it goes to show that university property should have some sort of filter to discourage or prevent outsiders from coming in. It goes a long way to ensure security. Speaking of which, I don't know whether the situation at York has improved at all after those rape incidents...
