SOLD: Canon EF 70-200 f/4 L Lens (non IS)

Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L USM lens (non IS version). It is very sharp, has excellent image quality and often rated the best value "L" available.

This lens is in excellent condition and comes with both caps, Canon ET-74 Lens Hood and Canon Lens Pouch. Unfortunately, no box or receipt but you are welcome to test it out and fire off some shots.

This price is amazing for the lens! Also, its a sharp sharp lens. I can easily take photos with this lens without any added sharpening. My normal setting is at 0.

This photographer definitely took care of his lens! Worth more than $500 for sure.

Correct, this is the non-IS version. I'll clarify that in my first post.

It's been very well taken care of and I've used a UV filter on it since day 1. But the UV filter is not included in this sale as I had to carry it over to another lens.

Newbie question: What is the difference between IS and non-IS lens? Basically the non-IS needs a more stable hand/tripod than an IS?

IS stands for Image Stabilization. Don't ask me how it works but there are extra motors in the IS versions and when you press the shutter halfway, you hear them click in and start grinding away. When you look through the viewfinder, the image all of a sudden becomes more stable. Pretty cool if you've never seen it in action before. The IS versions give you about 3 or 4 extra stops of stability on the shooters end. IS can't help you with a subject running around in a dark room. Some other downsides are that the extra motors weigh a little more, price becomes significantly higher and it's another thing that could break (the motors don't last forever).

Unfortunately I won't ship this. For your sake and mine, it's just too risky that something might break. And this is a used lens so I would much rather have a potential buyer come with their camera body to test it out to see that everything is a-ok before going through with the deal.
