**SOLD** Nikon AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor 12-24mm 1:4 IF ED
Testing water here - not 100% sure whether I really want to sell yet so I am posting it here to test the market. Price will be $SOLD. Anything less I will rather keep it (in other words price is firm). At this price, why even think about buying a off-brand such as Tokina ($740) or Sigma ($1000+). My asking price is less than any of these when you throw in the 13% tax here in Ontario. NO SHIPPING - local deals only.
For those who are lazy to use the internet: this lens currently retails for $1039.99+tax @ Henrys, or $989+tax @ Vistek, or $985+tax @ Aden.
For sale is a mint condition, one of the all time favorite, Nikkor (Nikon) DX Zoom lens, together with is original packaging, original genuine HB-23 Nikon hood. A photocopy of the original receipt, dated Jan 2009, will be included in the sale. Original Nikon warranty card and the instruction manual also intact and included. This lens use 77mm filter (however please be sure that a thin/slim filter is used as this is an ultra-wide angle lens, thick filter(s) will create vignetting.
The lens is in absolutely pristine condition with absolutely zero mold/fungus inside the lens. It has always been cared for properly and always stored in my Lowepro backpack. When not in use, front AND rear caps were always on. Zoom and focus rings are both smooth and precise (also very clean). Internal focus works quietly as it should (afterall this is AF-S) and accurately. When zooming, all lens group within the lens barrel and therefore you can have a permanent front filter to protect the lens. If you get to see the lens in person, you can tell that the front element has NEVER been wiped as it doesn't even have hair-line scratch. I have always used a blower to blow away the occasional dust landed on it.
For those who are interested, I also have the latest Hoya HD 77mm clear filter (slim) available. This is the latest and the best filter Hoya has created. HD glass are extra hard with hardened optical glass that has 4 times the breaking strength in ANSI standardized testing. Specialized coatings that are not just water-proof to repel water spots but also hardened to be scratch and stain resistant. Of course these coatings are from HOYA so they are greatly reduce reflections off the surface of the glass allowing to capture more light in your photos. Henry's sells this filter for $94.99 + tax. IF purchased together with the lens, I will let this Hoya HD 77mm clear filter go for $50 only.
For those who were looking for the Nikon 10-24mm, forget about that piece of plastic toy (although it carries a retail price of $900+tax). Get a proper professional Nikon equipment for much less than retail price while knowing the value of this lens will NOT depreciate much for your peace of mind. Did I mention this lens is Made In Japan.
IF = Internal Focus
SWM = Silent Wave Motor
ED = Extra-low Dispersion
Aspherical (lens) = utilizes non-spherical surfaces on either one or both sides of the glass in order to eliminate certain types of lens aberrationLast edited by yoshi838; Feb 24th, 2012 at 07:11 PM.

Thanks onlySE. That's right. If you were to buy it brand new (although mine is not far from that condition), you will have to pay way over $900 and chances are you will have to add TAX on top. For those who are serious, PM me and we can meet so you can try out my lens.
Cheers.
